SMN is quite easy IMO. Just keep up dots and use cooldowns appropriately. Eventually you get a feel on when to refresh dots so you don't need to watch them.
PLD, WHM and AST are also easy. Paladins have an easy rotation and the two others tend to be main healers who mainly focus on health bars and use their big guns while the Scholar juggles the fairy, shields and dps.
Some say BRD is easy as well. I wouldn't know because I only play it in level 50 content. Personally I would not recommend a melee for a raid leader because they need to focus on positionals and a long rotation.
Whatever you pick, the most important thing is to stick with it for a long time. Just keep doing easier content with the same job until you can fight with just muscle memory and intuition.
I don't have a problem making call outs as any class.
I have to put the VOIP program on voice detection instead of push to talk though...pushing a button outside of my rotation would mess me up.
No I main it, and its not all micro management. It easy to play once you understand it and its a basically a huge rotation but a simple rotationIt may look easy. But SMN is all about micromanagement. There is a great amount of variables to keep an eye on, aetherflow stacks, aethertrail, pets, dots, shadowflare, dreadwyrm. I can easily keep an eye on the variables admittedly but I cannot stick to the BLM's rotation. On the flipside, when speaking to BLMs, a good amount of them have stated that they cannot handle the micromanagement SMN entails. It can be a very tricky class to master. Please note that I am going off the assumption that you were judging by looking and not doing. If I am wrong I am sincerely sorry.
This. The rotation isn't hard once you get your muscle memory for it. If you like the class and have time to practice it enough calling and playing mnk optimally shouldn't prove to be too hard. (I call 90% of the time. But we haven't dedicated anyone to be THE caller so others will say stuff too when they see it/notice me not remembering to call it. It sometimes slips my mind after few hours of everyone doing it right).
"Sent on Android device"People need to remember that a healer's job isn't to heal HP
but rather to prevent HP from reaching 0
I think you could do it on monk. I had a raid leader back in 2.2 that was monk. Did a great job and the team didn't suffer. Maybe there are there are things easier seen by ranged/healers but you can always ask someone to do a specific call out if they are better suited to see/notice it.
I'm an ex-raid leader and did all of coil on MNK. For what it's worth. While it's not easy to optimise, and no DPS is, when you get used to it you'll do a lot of it without even thinking, especially when you're glued to a target. I would _not_ recommend Bard like some people are saying. Because it's an easy job to understand it's often mistaken for an easy job overall, however it does require a fair bit of concentration.
