I'm looking to transfer from another server

I want to transfer from another server. Mine is dying, I have not done any of the end-game raid content since November since our Static disbanded out of frustration on the difficulty of Savage (And for us it was difficult. We beat turn 13 before the nerf and Savage was nothing like we'd faced before)

I'm getting tired and a bit melancholy toward this game. I can't find a raid group worth a damn, and so I ask; tell me about your server, the population (Good and Bad) the End-Game content "Scene." How populated are not only the Large Cities (Mor Dohna or Idllyshire), but the lesser populated areas like Ul'Dah, Gridania, Limsa Lominsa.

If I transfer here, I would hope it would be a good fit and not something similar to what I already have.

Balmung is pretty full of players of many varieties all the towns are full of banter all the time and pf always has entries at any hour, but as for raiding I cant really promise youll have great luck. Raiding is gonna be hard on any server, but you have more oppurtunities with a larger player base. Probably try gilgamesh or balmung to be culture shocked with what a high pop server is like for sure. I moved from Sargatanas, if it even matters Its literally a real world transfer I promise you that

Join the line! Everyone wants a piece of Zalera, the best server. But only the few are worthy.

    tell me about your server
Zalera is better than all other servers in all possibly ways, all the time, for all differing opinions.

    the population (Good and Bad)
Good: Zalera is more of a mature crowd that like to pretend they're immature and have fun. People do what they want and play how they like with the time they have.

Bad: Idiots exist in any group of 10 or more people. Every server has at least thousands of people... so there's going to be a few idiots running around here and there anywhere you go. But because of the maturity of the bulk of the server, idiots are quickly drummed down (usually with sarcastic wit that they don't understand) and bums are left to wander alone, blocked by all and unable to get a reaction from anyone.

    End-Game content "Scene."
Marketboard is great for making money, but not so great if you're a DPS with no gathering classes or anything else at all. Even just a little effort goes a long way. You can simply sell silver ore and make a comfortable amount of gil on the Zalera marketboards.

There are many recruiting Free Companies of all shapes and sizes, most are hardcore about being casual (play ALL THE TIME but only some of that time is raid-scene-stuff).

If you know what you're doing, there are always PFs for latest EX content, right now Sephirot "no farm" parties abound, with a few learning ones here and there. Thordan parties still exist but are going the same route as Bismark and Ravana - burb farms.
I've seen a few Savage PFs, but these are fewer.

There are many Savage Raid FCs and groups, but they tend to be full statics instead of mostly-statics-that-get-help-from-PF. It's easiest to request those directly from the forums here (a few of them usually monitor and recruit from here).
With the mature side of things, though, there's also a bunch of Savage Raid groups that don't really recruit from here. They have their people, they play, and they progress, but they also don't care about things like FFLogs or having others know their progress. They raid for the derps, the herps, the beers and the cheers. That probably doesn't help you much since they have their groups already, though.

There are enough 60*** crafters and gatherers, but if this is your thing, there's lots of room for more if want the big gils.

How populated are not only the Large Cities (Mor Dohna or Idllyshire), but the lesser populated areas like Ul'Dah, Gridania, Limsa Lominsa.
I've never seen no one in any of the cities, at any time of day.
"High time" seems to be 6pm - 12am EST or so. - enough to block out retainer bells and gear NPCs, not enough to completely fill areas everywhere, though.
"Low time" seems to be 3am - 10am EST or so. - just a few folks here and there, but it's only been a very few rare occurances where I've seen "no one."

Idlyshire is the mostly populated. But the other cities still have quite a few.
I've been on Zalera for 2 years now... the server has never been larger. Take that in context, though. Zalera was a small server. Now I'd call it a mid-sized server.

If I transfer here, I would hope it would be a good fit and not something similar to what I already have.
Ah, mah crystal ball isn't working at the moment.
But wherever you end up, I hope it works out! Have fun

I heard that Balmung is full of turds.
I mean, when you sign onto Balmung, an actual turd forms in your seat cushion and oozes it's way up to your pants. It's really quite gross.

    Do you think that's true?

That doesn't happen on Zalera. Just sayin'.

It's even our slogan: Zalera - Turd free since '93!

'93 was a bad year, but we don't talk about it anymore.
