This is important to a free economy. If crafting cartels can use signatures to target harassment and price wars to back inflated prices on their items it is going to hinder the economy and it will always require drastic moves by SE to adjust the overpricing of items. If a crafter is able to and is willing to take a lower profit margin on their items then they should be able to price it accordingly with out fear of persecution by other more greedy crafters who would rather use their time to send hateful messages sling mud at other community members than figure out how to cut costs and charge and appropriate price for their items. Get good be competitive and play the market game.

Agreed.
I think the ability to remove a signature is a simple solution to a more complex issue.
Just contact a GM if you are being harassed.

I am not being harassed personally, though others in my FC are and I have heard of similar instances. I agree that the first step to solving individual harassment cases is to contact the GM team.
I have no qualms with having my signature on crafted items, but I think it would be useful for the crafting community as a whole if there was an option to opt out and avoid potential conflict.
Or you could let someone craft something anonymously and prevent them from being harassed in the first place. I dislike logic like yours. It's akin to the police saying, "Don't put locks on your doors. Wait until someone's robbing your house, then call us."
I understand your point completely, but when there is already a lot of other stuff people cant to see in the game and the Dev team doesn;t have enough resources, you want them to take the time to address something that can be fixed simply by blacklisting and calling a GM. There are other things they can spend their time on.
There are other things GMs can spend their time on, too. Instead of a developer inserting a few lines of code (this isn't something that should take up a remote amount of their time. It's a simple on/off switch), GMs will have to be on call to handle requests. Giving this option would reduce the amount of GM calls received and the GMs can focus on larger, more pressing issues such as cheaters and RMTs. Honestly, signatures never should have been mandatory anyway. That design choice shows a disregard for anonymity and a player should always have an option for anonymity.I understand your point completely, but when there is already a lot of other stuff people cant to see in the game and the Dev team doesn;t have enough resources, you want them to take the time to address something that can be fixed simply by blacklisting and calling a GM. Improvement to ANY aspect of the game is worth developer time.
