I usually fish when:

1. I'm bored waiting for timed nodes to pop.
2. I actually need them for food (Coerthan Oysters, Sweetfish etc.)
3. There's something I want for Aetherial Desynths (Some of the Aetherial fish are actually easy to catch, weather permitting.)

Between snags I either read a book, work on my patient's files, eat, or watch something (or someone >.>). All in all fishing is gathering with the least amount of effort and concentration. About the hardest part of it is knowing which type of snag to use when you're using Patience.

FSH was, in fact, the first DoL I made to 60. That was when no one really did FSH when HW came out. Half of what I made to pay for my house came from just selling HW FSH stuff.
