Is it worth getting into redscrips now?

Loads of my FC members are 3 star crafters/gatherers already. I want to be a top crafter/gatherer myself but I've got into it late. Is it worth me getting redscrips now or should I just wait and get the new craft able gear in 3.3 which isn't far away.

It takes like 3 weeks worth of red scrips just to get 1 main hand and I think 3.3 is maybe 6 weeks or so away? Just feel like I'm wasting the mats on red scrips when I could just save them and use them to make stuff when the new gear comes out? Same with gathering.

I am just short of being a 2 star crafter at the moment

The offhands, belt and ACCs are the newest additions so you could focus on those first and feel secure in them not becoming outdated as quickly as some of the other Red Scrip items ^^

But...my FC members have already got this gear and would make me the new gear providing I get the mats.

I would recommend doing the weekly red scrip grind, but don't actually spend the tokens. We don't know yet what the new gear will require.

This right here. I don't think there's much reason not to do this.

If your friends can craft you the new gear coming in 3.3 don't bother with red scrip gear, even now it costs millions to craft and meld, not worth for something you will replace it next patch, which should be in a month and a half.

But try to save tokens just in case they reuse the same red scrips instead of adding a new scrip, I assume they will use red scrip tokens to trade for mats for the new 3.3 gear.

There isn't any specific reason to have to get red scrips. That said, the materials you need to make the 3.3 gear will probably require Red Scrip gathering gear to collect and whatever new tokens you can buy with red scrips post 3.3 to make. If your planning on having someone else make the gear then you might as well wait but your going to need either a lot of gil or the ability to collect the materials you need if your planning to get 3.3 gear cause the price of whatever you need to make it is going to go through the roof and your friends will almost certainly be investing their resources into upgrading their own gear first.

From my point of wiew:
crafting classes MH and OH can be a good money savers and they are decent you'll miss the 8 CP that you can meld in the crafted ones, but there are some rotations that don't require that for 3 star crafting
gathering classes I think only accessories and off hand can be crafted so I think you need to buy most of the gear with red scrips
