Intolerable Lag Issues Since Patch 3.25 Release (Tuesday 3/29)

I’ve been experiencing intolerable lag, freezing, d/c symbol, cast interrupt, etc. since the 3.25 patch was released on Tuesday. I made a small video that captures just some of the lagging I’m experiencing.

Party freezes, then suddenly jumps forward. Disconnect symbol and can’t cast. Cast suddenly interrupted for no reason. Enemy ability text delayed (petrification dodge, etc.). Entire party freezes then suddenly everything speeds up to catch up with current point, and then I’m dead or someone else is dead. These are party freezes that are not to do with stuns or paralysis. The most annoying part is cast interruption. This happens 20-30 times per dungeon. It is very frustrating to endure.

My internet speeds are great (download/upload), and this doesn’t happen on any other game. I’m playing on PS4, with LAN/Ethernet.

Some help here would be appreciated!

I am have been having the same issues you are bringing up. I submitted a report on the forums hoping this gets resolved, I play on PC. Been considering transferring to another server, the game is unplayable with the constant ping spikes.

I've been seeing this but not experiencing a lag myself, if that makes sense. Several times I've encountered people since Tuesday who have complained of exactly this happening whilst I'm in a duty with them. Last night someone just froze in a duty & my Eos+Rouse buffed heals couldn't save him as they were healing like I was lvl5. Initially I thought his gear was broken it was so bad but his mates must have been in voice chat as they explained that everything slowed down & just stopped the further into the dungeon we ran. The tank reset his game/connection & it was all fine.

It definitely seems to be a lot more common post 3.25 than before it.

Thanks to you both for confirming that this is also happening to you. I thought that this could be happening to many people (like Culfinrandir mentions) but they are either enduring it or are not sure the best way to go about posting it. I feel bad for the people in dungeon with me that are dealing with the "SCH d/cing" lol. Hopefully if enough people speak up someone will look into it.

I noticed this morning there will be maintenance tomorrow, so perhaps that will address some of the issues. We will see I'll comment back here when/if things start clearing up.

I noticed it happening in several instances last night again, with users from different continents, where they'd display disconnect symbols yet remain connected but unable to do much. It's possible that it's end of line network issues (ie in, or just before, the SE server farm) but people who have stable connections are commenting on it having started last week.

I am also currently experiencing the same. Very frustrating when it's been a normal occurrence since 3.25. I play on PC and it's definitely not frame or ISP lag.

hmmm, that is weird, I havnt seen that at all on Zalera. Does it only happen in Instanced area's?

From my experience: it has happened everywhere. Getting into the waking sands has lag and it delays. Sometimes you have to reclick on the orb to get in. Turning in quests can take a couple of seconds of waiting for the ping to catch up. I can watch people while sitting in mor dhona stop running, then stutter all over the place and go back to running normal. Talking to vendors is an experience when you exit out and you cant move until the server catches up. The game just stops receiving data, then it spikes from 0 to 1500 some times 4000. I have been running tracert during spikes and it shows its not my network, but the hops. This has been going on since the last patch/maintenance. The players in duty finder have been understanding during some of the extreme primal trials and odin when they see me lagging all over place. We got them down(except odin still,grr) bad ping and all, but it makes it so unenjoyable playing like this.

hmmm. that is curious indeed. I know I had that problem a month or two ago but after about 2 weeks it cleared up. It might not be your network but depending on your trace route it might still be your ISP. A lot of American Telecom companys (Comcast ect ect) have been in on and off spats with Level 3. and Level 3 owning most the worlds fiber opticas and international lines as been dick moving them for breaking agreements ect ect. Your telecom company might be fighting level 3 again. Telecoms like Comcast are like gate keeps, Level 3 owns the train and how fast n well your data gets to point a n b. Hope it clears up for you.
