Can something be done about TT Tournament?

Me and many others are spending 100s of hours trying to get 120+ cards.

Originally i started because i wanted a better deck for when it came to the tournaments to even have a chance of being in the top 20.

All this time was for nothing, all people do is find a friend who will deliberately lose for them. I even struggle to find a legit person to play against so end up with a lower score by having to play the Npcs.

I'm at 99 cards at the moment, is there any point getting anymore...
It doesn't feel like a Tournament the way it is at the momoment , just saying -_-

This has definitely been a problem for some time, and my friends and I talk about it every couple weeks when we get together to legitimately (yet in vain) play the current tournament. We like doing it because we simply like using it as an excuse to get together and play.

Unfortunately, not everyone has friends to play with and the way the tournaments are handled with the easy way to cheat the system turns many people off. Even myself, who's a proponent of Triple Triad itself, and rather difficult to "offend" by things in-game that aren't quite right, is starting to become disillusioned.

On top of that, completing the tournament, in my opinion, does not give as good of rewards incentive as it should. Just as an example, in the last two tournaments I wasn't on the board at the end, likely because the first 8-10 people listed were all obviously cheating, and I got about 15,000 MPG and three platinum packs. The last tournament I got three Lahabrea cards (which I already had) and this most recent tournament I got three Shiva cards (which, again, I already had). It's darn near impossible to get a card I need, so I'm greatly just considering giving up on the tournaments altogether.

A change in the way tournaments are handled and their rewards need to be implemented for Triple Triad to ever gain ground and for us to find new players to play with who actually want to play legitimately.

Yeah this. I won every match against the King and I made it to 18th. Then was dropped off the leader board on the last day and ended up with 3 platinum packs.
It's so frustrating. Either make the matches DFable (and only via DF) and only one match per opponent or make it so so that a certain amount of points gives the card. There's no skill involved with the winners at the moment and those of us trying to get the cards have to cheat. And since everyone is already cheating it's still impossible.

for well over half a year, i only got lahabrea/shiva/ultima (and 3 nanamo) cards from those stupid packs, never once did i get a rare one. i dont even bother trying anymore, just doing the matches against an easy npc for some extra mpg every two weeks, everything beyond that is wasted time

No kidding. There's nothing like winning every match and being bumped off by people who only won one match. I actually saw this on my old server. The tourney starts (I have a night shift so I'm up with it starts) and, beside myself, there were only two others on the list. They (surprise! surprise!) had finished their tourney matches. One had 49 wins out of 50 and the other had 1 with out of 50.

I take a screenie and send it to SE with a 'look, the tourney just barely started. There's no way anyone can get through 50 actual matches this fast if one wasn't throwing the game for the other.' I heard nothing back, naturally. I don't think they care.

In ARR I was playing TT all the time, farming cards left and right.

With HW I have all but given up. The tournament is constantly rigged, pretty much all NPCs have a Random rule that make them Not Fun, and since sometime in 3.1 I haven't even bothered playing a single match. I burned out on the lack of fun. :-/

They just don't seem to care about Triple Triad at all. I spoke with a GM about this and they said it's a bannable offence, yet every tournament I see the exact same players cheated their way to the top just so they can take the MGP to afk 20 hours a day in idyllshire on a fenrir mount.

It's sad that the actual Triple Triad players get shafted by this and they have zero intention of fixing it.

Kinda seems to defeat the purpose when the prize is rare cards isnt it? Honestly I only join for the free MGP for participation.

was actually having fun every week with TT tournament, when you had chance to stay on leaderboards by playing well against NPC opponents, then they nerfed points you can get from them, so now only way to get a decent payout is to play other people, sadly most people don't want to play, or want to be paid gil to play.

I gave up on it, maybe someday they'll fix the cheating.
