Strengths: multi-range damage dealer, able to wear cloth, leather, and light chainmail, well rounded and versatile, with some competency in magic, and quite capable of assuming the role of DD/support
Weaknesses: versatile, but not as powerful as other specialized classes, ranged weapon skills have an mp cost, has the same durability as an arc, can cast magic, but is limited to single-target casting.)
Associated job: Red Mage (before you scream bloody murder, note that both Squall (ffviii) and Lightning (ffxiii) are both adept at using magic as well as melee combat, basically, gunblade classes are red mages who gained a few levels in badass)
on that note, weapon skills:
energy drain: melee ws that does for mp what Bloodbath does for hp
elemental shots: one for each element, uses a bullet + X amount of mp to deal magic dmg + a debuff
Renzokuken and Army of One: Do I even need to explain these? big dmg ws
skills:
the ability to sacrifice all mp as an aoe recharge to all nearby party members (10 minute timer)
this is a front-line hybrid combat class, so no spells or abilities that would make people decide that gunblade users are glorified battery chargers (aka: the most hated aspect of rdm in ffxi)
