What got you interested in MMO's?

Not sure if you can consider it an MMO (since there was only ever 4 members to a group), but what really got me started was Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube. I absolutely loved that game and had some good friends I could go adventuring with for the latest loot. Getting my hands on the ethernet adaptor for the Gamecube wasn't exactly cheap or easy, since I had to order it in especially for the game. Worth it.

The next major MMO I would play would be FFXI, and I stuck with that for many, many years. I flirted with other MMO's all the while, but that remains my favourite MMO to date.

I figured I could find one that liked me for my personality. That was 12 years ago; I've had no luck.

But I don't really remember my first mmo o.o It was something in 2000. But I've played pretty much every mmo except a very tiny amount, thats come out since then. Most either didn't really keep my attention for more than a few weeks or they got shut down. Then I tried out XI in 2005, even though I heard about it since NA release, you know, with their one single commercial and nothing else. >_> Played that until earlier this year, though still not full on quit, just taking a break atm.
Also not really sure why I got into them, maybe more of a "This looks fun" then suddenly 16 years is gone >_> lol

Exploration and experimentation (both while leveling solo and in dungeons/PvP). By a few level capped characters... probably the community first and foremost.

I still don't think I've encountered a world I've enjoyed as much as Vanilla WoW's, if only because of its size, mob layouts, diversity, etc, and the talents to interact with it in different ways. That, and it actually seemed a strategic boon often enough to have a leveling partner, especially on PvP servers (without DKers).

Nothing specific made me try MMOs, just thought I would give one a go and I am very glad I did too!

FFXI was my first mmo, and I still have an active subscription to it today, then came WOW,(still subbed as well), Rift +Tera, and of course ffxiv 1.0

I enjoy them all for very different reasons, have no intention of giving up any of them.

Just an FYI, the reason you've not had any luck is probably to do with the fact you call girls "females" and use words like "friendzoned."

Once upon a time, there was this game being released in NA called FFXI. And some people I knew in RL just started playing it and dragged me in. And then I got hooked, and made many online friends along the way.

always loved role playing games b4 i started gaming online sooo was more or less the next step for me XD

1st game was tales of pirates then went to angels online for about 6 years.. then tried alot of other mmos around til ff14 came XD
