If they actually gave you a good reward, heck; I would LOVE to do it. However, doing a long stressful job and getting nothing out of it? No thanks.

This is why games like Dark Souls are so fun. Yes, you have really really hard content, but once you beat it; you most likely get something way worth the effort for what you did, it feels good. When you go through all that stress, and get nothing? .... The content's armor isn't even GOOD looking.

The developers saw a very low % clear rate. So they went ahead and adjusted it to see what the numbers were after.
If you are doing raiding just for the gear and not the thrill of accomplishing a difficult task with your fellow party members, then I feel sorry for you. Farming gear to most people is an afterthought or a means to make progression on the next piece of content easier. Its something you think about after the clear. By your logic, we should not play at all because what we do eventually gets outdated for new content.

Also, its funny you talk about Dark Souls, since it's purpose falls into the same category as Savage raids. Its about the accomplishment of defeating a really hard boss or obstacle in Dark Souls, not what piece of gear you get with it.

You seem to be on the extreme end of being materialistic in your online games.
