I have no idea what happens then, but I would not be waiting inside since the placard you buy the house from is by the front gate entrance and you want to be there the second the house disappears and is left with just a red square in the empty lot.

Almost 4 hours past owner hitting 45 days absent and house still hasn't demolished - I think they need to put timers on the Placard once the house hits the 42 day mark and last warning email is sent.
