The same advice applies now, as it did back in 2.0. You're really going to want to (at least) level all crafts to 15 to get their initial cross-class skills. You might be surprised as well by any potential change of heart about what you wanted to get to 50 or 60 first when doing this. The lv50 skills are where a significant amount of game changing events happen though, so they are rather important the further into crafting you'd like to go.
You can absolutely start with one craft to 60, but you're going to struggle a lot trying to make any of the 1-3 star goods without other crafting skills. I daresay it'd be nearly impossible to have even a decent chance at HQ'ing any 3 star recipes without them.
If your goal is simply to profit off of the craft, regardless of how slow of an approach it may be, you're likely better off with GSM or BSM/ARM. A lot of the crafting material goods from those, at least on my server, tends to sell very well even as NQ. The only question then comes whether or not it's worth just selling the gathered mats or selling the crafted version. You're usually going to make a little more with the crafted outcome (not always though), but it usually sells slower than the gathered raw goods.
In the end, without having access to the other craft skills, you usually won't be able to reliably make much of a profit. There are some gems, here and there, that you can just craft an NQ for a nice profit from the base cost (like housing goods), but they usually come with some risk.
You really need all classes to 50 for cross class skils, though leveling can be somewhat painless if you take ixal and gc turnins into account. Its somewhat slow but easy way to level. Only level the classes you really intend to use to 60 since there are no usefull skills past 50 in my opinion. (yes i know precise touch is somewhat essential but its common for all crafts)
Best for making gil is cul combined with a leveled botanist since it doesnt rely on any other crafter for ingredients. Alc requires both miner and botanist leveled to make a profit.
