It depends on what stats you need. I'm ACC capped and prefer Steamed Staff or Deep-fried Okeanis.

They're all cost effective if you gather the materials and have them crafted for you. It's a bit more difficult for you since you have no gathering classes leveled, but if you leveled fishing (super easy) and went into Diadem you could fish up the Retribution Staff to have it crafted or do Pterodactyls to sell and just buy the foods.

Whatever you can afford that gives the most VIT, preferably with Crit + SkS ( since they stopped Crit + Det food ; _ ; ). The certified chef in my static gives me a bunch of HQ Bacon Bread and that works fine for me even if it gives Parry + Crit.

Isn't loaghtan steak better than steamed staff for around the same price (or at least in my server each HQ costs around 25k for both of them)? In terms of cost effectivity, I still prefer baked pipira (5-10k each HQ) or maybe something lower like flint caviar or bacon bread, but that's just because I don't craft/gather so all my money comes from roulette bonuses and sometimes selling materias from weekly VA (only using mat V on my accessories, IV on the rest until I get i240s from savage).

It would be, but you're comparing a 1* food with a 3* Specialist food. Steamed Staff is far easier to make.

    Steak:

    Characteristics
    Specialist Recipe
    Quick Synthesis Unavailable
    Craftsmanship Required: 850
    Control Required: 820

    Staff:

    Characteristics
    Quick Synthesis Unavailable
    Craftsmanship Required: 620

*EDIT* On Sarg Staff is quite expensive (Almost 50k each for HQ last I checked). I don't recall what Steak was at.

Ah okay, I just saw that those two foods have been going at around the same prices for a few weeks so if I have to pick one of them I'd pick loaghtan.

I'm a DRK and PLD, and I'm good on accuracy. I TRY to grab some Crit and Determination food, but on Malboro, stuff is expensive (sometimes, a 5-piece of Black Truffle HQ would be close to 300k). That said, stuff that gives Parry goes cheaper, so I'd just end up find myself grabbing some of those.

Skill Speed, huh? Hmm... I'll consider that when I get home tonight.
