Go play WoW for a while and do something wrong there in raids and dungeons - it will turn your experience with the french guys into a honeymoon. Ofc, FFXIV has idiots too, but trust me. It can be worse. Much worse.

It is not like those occurrences are random. I only gave 2 examples. I could open a website with chatlogs from this game with harassment in the Duty Finder.@OP: You ran into a group of jerks. It happens, would they be french, german, english or whatever. Report and move on. You don't need to be offended by that to the point where you'd come complain about that particular experience on a new forum thread. If everyone were to do that, SE would need to open a special dedicated subforum.
Those people need to be the ones getting kicked out and not applauded for their misbehavior.
Best one was still that healer that ran ahead, pulled everything like there is no tomorrow, died, threw some insults and left.
I also want SE to recognize the problem, because I am not paying to be insulted in a game.
All you can do is report the behavior and move on. Don't let it bother you. That's what those kinds of people want. They want to upset you and get that negative attention. If it's a single instance of that player being a jerk, they'll probably not be punished. If they have a pattern of behavior, eventually they probably will be at least talked to by a GM. Either way, SE isn't allowed to tell you about actions they take on other players' accounts as this would violate their right to privacy.
Except that everyone already does that, which is why there is a topic devoted to it in the first place, it needs a sticky. You don't need to be offended by that to the point where you'd come complain about that particular experience on a new forum thread. If you need to vent, there's already a thread to do that.

So obviously it's all a trap and the world is factually coming to an end..
had the same problem with two german guys yesterday. First thing they come in insulting the tank for wearing one i90 gearpiece in snow vigil, everything else was 110 and above, then the healer which was one of these two decided not to heal him while throwing insults at him, because they knew he couldn't understand them. Next they kicked him.
What they didn't know is that i'm fluent in German, so I reported them, and while we waited for a replacement tank, a GM came in and they got a little timeout. Problem solved
French, Polish, Brazilian people are notoriously hostile, in every Multiplayer game i ever played.
If you get a whole guild of them, they will troll and cuss anyone not in their language exclusive guild, and if you ask them to communicate with you in eng, they will take it as an act of war, and go out of their way to gank you, if possible.
Ofc it's not all of them, or even most of them, but those that do it, ruin the reputation of an entire country.
I've chatted with lots of very friendly Brazilians though, and a few of them were very happy to chat with me, and felt that their English improved from it; same with a French guy, in D2 - he said his eng grades dropped, when we lost contact for a while
I think some people from these countries, are just extremely patriotic when it comes to their language - refuse to learn Eng, and get offended, if you ask them to speak it - It's not like you see Swedish ppl go bananas if you ask them to speak English - they just happily oblige, and apologize for alienating anyone.
Anyway, this is common on every EU server, in every MMO, not just here.
Snow Vigil? You mean Snowcloak? Or Stone Vigil Hard Mode? Either way the minimum iLv for both of those dungeons are very low and even if he had a few i90 pieces he still would have been fine.had the same problem with two german guys yesterday. The OP included that they were French due to the language barrier and the fact he only had English and German ticked. Not to mention it's probably the rudest thing ever to insult someone in a language they don't even understand (or think they don't understand). Why are you guys backing the 3 other people in the dungeon?

Why does this xenophobic post have 16 likes :|
@OP is this a common occurrence or a one time thing? It's a very specific story, which makes it sound like it has happened once (or is at least uncommon). Sounds like a frustrating experience, but you know most of the experiences aren't like that.
