It *is* quite easy to focus more on the bad experienced, especially if you have just had a string of bad luck. I have seen insults fly quickly in trials and such myself before but not with regularity. Hopefully OP was just having a bad day.Why is racist post have 16 likes :|
@OP is this a common occurrence or a one time thing? It's a very specific story, which makes it sound like it has happened once (or is at least uncommon). Sounds like a frustrating experience, but you know most of the experiences aren't like that.
I took the post as saying the OP was racist for mentioning they were French, which is probably how the others took it too, although he wasn't racist in any way.Why is racist post have 16 likes :|

Because people treat it like a "loldrg" joke, albeit xenophobic (not racist).
So, as I said, report them and move on. The forums won't help you with that, and saying "be nice plz" won't either. It is not like those occurrences are random. I only gave 2 examples. I could open a website with chatlogs from this game with harassment in the Duty Finder.
Those people need to be the ones getting kicked out and not applauded for their misbehavior.
Best one was still that healer that ran ahead, pulled everything like there is no tomorrow, died, threw some insults and left.
I also want SE to recognize the problem, because I am not paying to be insulted in a game.
We are all players here, and the forum moderation isn't the in-game one. Besides, chances are that the players you're complaining about don't even read the forum.
Also, may I remind you that you are playing a MMORPG. I'm pretty sure you know what MMO stands for, and thus why you should expect social interactions. You are dealing with real people and, breaking news, some people are jerks (even more so while being anonymous). That's why there's a report system.

I've come across French players who actively refuse to speak any English especially when they have someone who isn't native speaker and if you ask to do so start to behave in a negative manner. Reverting to English is something everyone should be capable of as should common courtesy. But I have found many choose not too and that's a sad thing and pisses me off if I am honest.
Generally I have F not highlighted in my duties etc but if I come across them if they are nice and play well thats fine - but as OP noted when its 3 of them and 1 of you - its not a nice experience. But the French overall have a bad reputation in games I have found - and people are especially vocal about it on my server. But everyone's experience is different. Don't let it get to you just hold your head high and move on. Hopefully you don't have to go through that situation again.
SE could maybe perhaps do like WoW did and have servers for different countries. But that's not likely tbh..

That joke is no more or less racist/xenophobic than 3 French guys refusing to speak English with the OP. *shrug*Why is racist post have 16 likes :|

The three guys in the story were jerks, no doubt about it. That doesn't mean that someone making a xenophobic comment about an entire group of people (more than just 1 country, but several countries and parts of countries) is OK in the slightest. Honestly, I am surprised that hasn't been deleted.
Hmm, I read it as background as the language barrier was a key component of the story.
You're right, xenophobic is the better term. As technically we are not all different races, using the term racist is always technically incorrect. However, thanks for the correction.
Well... among french trolls, many of them will never admit it but most refuse to talk (or write) in english :
1. because they are so bad in talking/writing english
2. for a part because they would love to have a french exclusive server and do everything they can to motive other player to changer server
3. They are naturally jerk even with other french players <=> "I'm a pgm, you're just a noob, leave that game" or "I pay, I do what I want, you don't agree, just f*** off"
and so on.
Hopefully, they are not all like that but they are enough, even if they are a minority, to rot game experience of other players (they are french or not).
(You know, as a french player I can say it, many of french players are used to say their worst experience is with german players XD)
From what I've gathered on Reddit and these forums, it seems like there's some sort of ongoing Xenophobia regarding French players in the EU data center.

Most of the comments seem to agree with the OP
The OP knew broken french... He refused to speak if because "it's too rusty". "Hey, majority, please make an effort only for me because I don't want to". It has nothing to do with xenophobia... at this stage, it's just common sense.
Don't get me wrong, these people in OP's story were likely just a bunch of jerks, but what you seem to imply sounds like a double standard.
