WHO ARE YOU???
WHO ARE YOU???
Mutemutt, you actually make a lot of sense and I hope that is where Soren is coming from, because then I can understand why he wouldn’t be supportive. But I’m not out to harm anyone and I’m not benefiting from any of this. I gain nothing. So then I feel like I’m being accused of doing something negative, out of some suspicion that I’m gaining something from doing this. Why are our players not allow to be promoted? I’m not forcing anyone to come watch and be supportive. But I am questioning why someone would want to prevent it by making it sound like a negative idea?See I think the big difference for me is in MogTalk's discussion it's not really focused on either player but on pvp and the feast in general. In truth, I loved the MogTalk episode but it wasn't like I went there for Joe or anything. That's what bugs me about OP's idea; it seems more focused on those particular players than on the game mode. That's the impression I get when talking about an "interview".
And that's why I'm not really interested. I'm not interested in getting to know these people. As ironic as it may sound, I don't want to hear an interview of someone I don't already know and love. Part of me thinks that maybe the OP is just framing the idea in a weird way, but I'm not too sure.
I want the forums to have helpful viable information on how to pvp for all classes but I only play AST. And I never use Noct. So can you imagine the flaming I would get if I even tried to post a AST guide? But I still want it to be here on the forum so guess what… I have to find an AST and then find a way to get them to give me all the good tips and tricks. So this is my way of doing it. Helping the community by showing other players love and appreciation, and getting that same player to give up their tips and tricks. If they have a twitch, youtube or whatever, then why not help them with that? No skin of my nose I couldn’t care less. All I want is to be able to provide the cool stuff here on the forums. How is this a bad thing for the community and for them? Am I missing something?
I think I’m a decent player but I don’t think anyone will take my tips seriously because I don’t have much credibility. So a better way would be to take the info from someone who does. We will all see, read and use this information. What’s wrong with showing them some love too? You don’t have to, but some people it’s no skin of their nose to open up a stream and watch for a few mins. I know people get money from streaming and I think that’s f****** awesome, but I’m not asking anyone here to pay a subscription fee or donate a dime. And you will NEVER hear me say that. Not that I’m against it I have donated to a few Street Fighter streams before. But I’m not asking for that and never will.
So why does this idea sound so bad to some of you. If was asking for money I understand that could come across as begging or something, but I’m not. I’m just saying I’d love for you all to tune in for this if you can. BTW Jammy has not asked for this, in fact all he says is “Dude. Please not live... I can’t I’m too shy” (d’aww he’s so cute). That is all he says but I’m like “naaa it will be fun!” because this stuff gets me excited.
Some of you are against me for no good reason, I’m replying because I do want support from you all. I love this game and for the simple fact that you guys do to, I already felt connected to you like one big family. Yet here we are making something I feel is positive, sound like a bad idea. I ask for you to explain why, but the bottom line is that you think I have some scheme up my sleeve. For me to bring us closer together I can’t ignore any of you, even the ones I don’t understand or agree with.
Sorren you think I’m being careful, but actually I’m just trying not to disrespect you in anyway while still having this debate with you.

I have nothing do with Soren my boy ;D. You are just proving the pf correct.
yo lets not bring MogCn into this. We're not clones who all hold same view ^^; Do not think it is at all relevant and is IMO unwarranted. Only about 3ish people in the entire FC do PVP regularly and would even be aware of this stuff.

In lieu of further derailing (looks wonderful when people give it 4 pages of attention, by the way), what about taking relevant questions from players for the stream? Mogtalk did this for their Feast episode and C'eve's insight on healing helped one of my friends out who'd posted the question. However, there are a lot of areas they haven't touched on and a lot of topics people still want to hear opinions on, while players will have different areas of expertise and approaches.
Damn whats with that explosion of hate?
He's trying to help out the pvp community by getting some one on ones with pvpers that do stream and its easier to find pvpers that way that actually like it and helps ppl who want a diff way than reading guides/reddits with more on point way in hearing how different ppl play pvp.
You're thinking way to deep into this.
everyone plays differently and is a good way to hear how they play and get ppl who wanna learn more ways they can be versatile.
not the usual atk smn then healer then blablabla.
You adapt and its a nice way to gain more publicity to the pvp scene.
It's really a tricky thing to handle, especially in regards to PvP content. The most important thing is to be the interviewer (OP) to be impartial to who he picks (it shouldn't be anyone he's familiar beyond conversation), and it's generally best to keep it 1:1. The moment you have associated people or group talk, it can easily turn to an entire session of circle jerk or ego boosting (intentional or not, esp retrospect it's really not a good viewing experience for either side).
Non-open ended questions with straight responses imo would be the ideal way to get the message across with promotion feast gameplay. It can get view points across and allows them to show passion for that content. Even text interview is good for keeping things (mostly) objective.
Right here for example. It's one thing to just read or engage with them on the numerous discussions, but it doesn't really get the entire point across. Everyone has a different perspective on a game and that's the whole point of an interview to begin with. Whether or not it's relevant is on the interviewer to keep it on track and objective, and the interviewee to get their intentions across (which is mostly on them, whether or not they want to speak about their perspective, among other things)
And that's why I'm not really interested. I'm not interested in getting to know these people. As ironic as it may sound, I don't want to hear an interview of someone I don't already know and love. Part of me thinks that maybe the OP is just framing the idea in a weird way, but I'm not too sure.

Eh, I mean if you wanna you can. Seems like a nice idea but in the long run it wont bring more then 3-4 people into pvp who isnt already doing it. I stopped pvping for now cause of stress and the underdeveloped minds I had to deal with. I got my mount and thats as far as im motivated since some modes in feast are clearly not balanced for certain classes. Some work better in 8v8 while others work better in 4v4. I'll wait to see what the next and apparently final changes are to the feast before I decide i'll hop back in.
pvp player interviews is interesting, i am impressed by Gold player who solo queue, i mean how they doing it with random players XD.
Etros, thanks for doing this. I think it could turn into a fun and informative series of interviews.
To all those saying you don't like the idea, it's simple, you don't have to. If you don't want to hear the opinions and tips of high-ranked and high-skilled PVP players, then this kind of thing is probably just not your cup of tea. I for one would like to hear the thoughts of other experienced players because honestly I just never really get a chance to speak to them or listen to their thoughts and ideas on certain aspects of the game.
It will be informative and entertaining to some, and boring to others, and that's really ok.
