Today there was a video posted on reddit of a supposed "Speedhacker" in Feast who covers a large distance in an instant.

The thing is, anyone that looked for more than 15s could easily see that the bard used blast shot to knock back the person. Knockbacks combined with the server latency creates really strange looking movements that other people see.

So instead of crucifying people can we all just chill and take the time to actually analyze things. I'm starting to see this mob mentality leaking onto these forums and elsewhere and would rather the PvP community not gut itself from the inside. No this "blast shot" ordeal isn't what's going on in every situation I've seen but the reaction to it was disgusting

Players can't ban other players. It's the job of the GM's to investigate our reports and determine if someone is hacking.

Accusing someone of something doesn't make them guilty, it also doesn't make them innocent.

People are gonna report people for hacking, even when they aren't hacking, especially in competitive online games. This is nothing new. If you feel like a player should feel bad because a couple of random players on reddit said they were speed hacking then that's a bigger problem.

If the player in question knows they don't hack, they have nothing to worry about from a GM investigation, and with so many players hacking a lot of people do need to be investigated.

Agreed. Good players are being accused of hacking just for being good, mixed with the fact that the accusers simply don't understand what they're looking at when provided "evidence".

I feel like more often than not people are correct about the accusations. I didn't see the "blast shot" one but it might be an anomaly from someone who doesn't know what to look for. One bad call doesn't mean people should stop being aware.

Plus, we really only see the most obvious ones. Most people would turn it up to 5% or 10% extra to get the edge and you'd never know.
