Ok, so Mentor Roulette contains extreme primals.

Was including those in a roulette not specifically made for them really such a bright idea? Earlier an FC buddy asked us to jump into an in-progress Shiva EX group, so we did thinking it was an attempt for a pony. We queue in and he tells us it's for his Mentor Roulette. Wipe after wipe after wipe, mechanics fully explained more times than I can count with people still dying to the same thing over and over. In the end the timer ran out without us ever getting under 50%. And this was Shiva, probably the easiest of the EX Primals. I mean I know SE wants the veterans to help the newbies, but come on, there's a limit to how much you can stuff into a roulette. It's Duty Finder for pete's sake.

There goes my desire for those Expeditioner's Flyers, I can't imagine doing this 200 times.

Maybe its so people can mentor people as to how to do primal EX's /straightface.

Mentor roulette is literally every party instance in the game; you can get T13 in mentor roulette.

Not sure. When I asked what was in it the answer I got was that it contained everything except Coil, Heavensward EX primals, and Gordias Savage.

Mentor roulette isn't really for any individual if they get mad at having to help newbies. Yes, newbies suck sometimes. I got Shiva ex in mine earlier this week, four out of 8 newbies and even with that being the case only myself and the other tank seemed to know mechanics. We did it on our very last pull.

Was it frustrating? Hell yes. Was it worth it in the end? Yes, to watch them very slowly improve after explaining each mechanic in as much detail as I could. Seeing the scholar explode with "omg thank you guys!" did put a smile on my face.

tbh, I get sastasha or another newb dungeon much more often than I get ex primals. My very first mentor roulette was Titan ex though xD

I've been getting lucky and getting a lot of guildhests in Mentor roulette. Then two nights ago I got Urth's Fount. With 4 new people. Gungnirs getting stacked, a newbie Paladin getting one-shotted by Sanngetall... it was interesting to say the least. One DRG ended up ragequitting (funny thing, they were the worst culprit for standing in floor candy), saying "This is stupid." After that DRG left, someone said "Just go" and the newbie tank in mostly i90 gear pulled before we could tell him not to. We hit Zanketsuken at 30%, yeah not happening. We finally got another DPS, convinced the newbie tank that the other tank should be MT (he was getting one-shotted even using cooldowns...), got the heals straight, and finally cleared it two pulls later.

Mentor roulette - yeah we really should just rename it to Russian Roulette. xD
