How To Access expansion if no one is doing Story Quest anymore?

I feel like i Just wasted 20 bucks. I'm coming back to the game and I'm like, ok yea, I gotta catch up with story quest to do Expac I guess. But then I get to Rock-solid Protection and I have to use Duty to do Qarn lvl 35 but ofcourse no one is doing this so I basically cant play the game?
Seems really broken to me and I assume SE wont give my money back.

you don't have to use duty finder. you can ask your FC / friends to help you. this is an mmorpg, not a single player game. there are also the roulettes wich will help you to find a party with the duty finder. activate all languages and try to quoue up right after dayliereset, because that's the time many people do the roulettes. and you also can try to find some people with the party finder.

Yeah, it's not accurate to say that no one is doing that. In addition to other new players specifically looking for that, as Tint indicates, there are a much larger number of players doing the Leveling and Mentor roulette. These are specifically designed to get you party members for duties like Qarn. Just queue up and be patient.

You can also ask anyone with a crown next to their name to be invited to the Novice Network. There, you'll find other new players and experienced players willing to help you out. At least on my server, the NN is working as intended, all of the actual "real" mentors are incredibly helpful and rather protective of the sprouts. And by real mentor, I mean the people who not only wear the crown, but actually participate in NN chat and helping people. There are plenty who just have the crown because they think they're special.

Or, given Sunken Temple of Qarn (Normal Mode) is pretty easy now and you're level 50 (and you have not only a healing spell but a pet to help you as well to boot!), in Duty Finder, click on the gear icon at the top and then click the "Undermanned Party" and "Unsynced Parties" options and then click OK.

This will allow you to enter the dungeon solo (with no other players) at level 50 (in other words, with no level sync active) - although you will not get any exp or random item drops from enemies, that's pretty useless for you anyway, and going into the dungeon solo will still count towards accomplishing the quest (you just had to complete the dungeon). At that level, you should have no trouble (as you're SMN I presume use Titan for tanking and if you take damage you have Physick to heal yourself with).

These functions were added into the game in a patch so it's likely they were not available when you last played hence you were not aware of them - I'm more surprised no one else suggested it.

Either way, don't despair! You're not stuck so don't worry!

What are you talking about? There are tons of people doing this, just like with all the other MSQ dungeons. Just queue up for it and you'll get in in a few minutes. Everyone does it during the Main Scenario, then people keep repeating it to level up. It's part of the Leveling Roulette. It's also repeated for other tasks. (I'm pretty sure there's a relic book that needs it, for instance.) People don't stop running dungeons just because they've been there before (especially not in a game where people have a dozen jobs to level up).

Dont just assume people aren't doing it because they have already completed it.
There are new players doing it, players leveling alt classes, and players doing their leveling and mentor roulette. Same with ANY dungeon
Try it before you go and assume.

Surprised you didn't get anyone, how long did you queue for? I know plenty of people who do their leveling roulette each day, whether for xp or for tomestones, and Sunken Temple of Qarn is one of the many dungeons it allows access to.

I'm not sure how difficult Qarn was before, but I do know that a lot of tanks don't like that place since attentive DPS is still required to keep him/her alive, especially if using DF. I just did about 5 runs there, and had no difficulty queueing as healer or dps, and in each of those runs, there was at least one person doing it for the first time. Also remember that Qarn is an optional dungeon outside the MSQ. You actually have to WANT to go there lol. Unless of course you unlocked it by mere happenstance and catch it in roulette haha!

But I wouldn't worry about it too much. Get some FC mates to go with you if queue time is just ridiculous. Having a tank go in with you will shorten the time dramatically.

These dungeons are still being done as others have already pointed out. However it is possible depending on your exact circumstances that queues may be long.

Going in as DPS can be a wait of 10-20 minutes, even at peak hours. If you're playing at very odd hours expect longer waits, but generally no more than 1 hour even in the most extreme cases.

However all of the old content needed to go through the MSQ and even the optional content like Relic Trials is still very much alive. If you're finding it impossible to get in and finish the content something strange is happening to you specifically, rather than a more general issue with the game.
