Back to topic. The grind is just not fun. And if you have to watch a video to ignore the grind. Then it needs help.

I told you something that is actually relevant to the discussion, you just toss it to the side and say it does nothing, when in reality it should save you so much time. THAT is what's generally considered bad about the grinds, not the extra effort per level acquired.

Is it just me, or is crafting in FFXIV the

I really feel the same, I keep falling asleep every single time. Literally, I fall asleep when crafting! I really enjoy the mini-games and all, but the progression is so slow I have to do it over and over and over again, which in turn makes me sleepy.
I guess I'll have to wait for a total revamp on the progression of DoH to get one class to 50. xD

I don't really mind the "grind". Hitting 50 basically means you're "done" with the craft, and from that point on, you can simply use it to rake in money. (which you can still do while getting /to/ 50)

You don't /have/ to powerburn it to 50. You can take it easy, making things which are actually useful too.

It changed a bit when materia were introduced, but if you want to be the elite and do everything yourself, then I suppose you deserve the long road to get to 50.

I dunno, it just sounds like most people see the crafts as worthless until you hit 50 and do the crafting endgame, but it's basically the same thing as with battle jobs.

What with this insane rate of leve allowances I can spend hours a day without even running out of leves. Which /is/ free materials and a rather decent exp reward per handin.

And SE is making it even simpler, so what's with the whining

Very long not if it was cooking you can get 1-100 in less then 2week buying stuff from NPC and at around 70+ you just farm a few things. If you have money on the other hand noting is really long is it lol.

Cooking doesn't count, it was so stupidly cheap and you have unlimited supplies from NPCs a lot of the way =P

Getting materials for higher level synths was a nightmare and skillups were so rare...

@Nayt: I think they need to increase the level range of being able to attach Materia so people get more use out of their low and mid-level crafts. Having to get to 45+ to attach things to a single piece of gear is rough.

Its not just crafting....this whole game is a grind.....no one quests to level or even pays attention to any so called "storyline" because you dont quest to level you just beat on monsters in an area they pop real fast....EVERYTHING in this game is a grind.....even grinding ifrit till you get lucky enough the servers dont kill you.....[Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]

A mmo is a grind it is what the genre is. WoW is a grind, Aion is a grind, XI is a grind, Rift is a grind, XIV is a grind... welcome to the mmo genre.
