Favorite Job Storylines from a lore standpoint

I'm probably one of the few that liked BRD for a couple of reasons. THe main reason for it is because the overall theme of it sort of...hit close to home for me.

On the other hand, MCH was pretty fun too; we're setting the precedent for that, after all, and it'll be our Soul Crystal that gets passed down.

And then I kind of like the SCH and SMN lines; SCH because learning about the Nymians was kinda interesting, and SMN because it gives us a bit of insight into the Ascian Hierarchy.

SCH was super awesome, so much lore and i actually felt cool. In the 60 battle I felt like a true SCH commanding and supporting my troops.

AST wasn't as awesome but super interesting lore wise too.

I really would love to see the tonberries enter the main story. There is one particular Drill Sargent that I think the Mealstrom could really benefit from :P

Monk if we count out Wildaderp and his cat girlband. I was really in love with the Bad'guy Tia. He is what defined my image for a Fist of Rhalgr in my mind... Wildaderp ever since the 50 quest doesn't any more . But still! One of my favo questlines regardless, mostly due to Erik giving you so much lore to read as well!

Top 5 job storylines for me:

1. Drk- 30-50 was fantastic and I really liked the explanation of Drk's powers along with teaming up with Sidurgu.

2. Mch- I really enjoyed the tradition vs innovation themes they explored.

3. Nin- Oboro and his sister were awesome. Plus the 50 and 60 quests where you do that bad ass entrance? I was hooked.

4. Sch- The lore and background history was fascinating, especially learning about the truth of the Tonberries.

5. Ast- Learning about the constellations really interesting. Also Leveva is awesome and I thought Janne was awesome.

I would be remiss though if I didn't mention certain other class quests that were interesting.

1. Blacksmith from 50-60 is a fantastic story about a young ishgardian noble girl trying to reclaim her family's honor. Let me tell you though, this girl is a small elezen preteen but she's one hell of a vicious fighter. In one quest she faces off against one of the veteran temple knights who legitimately feared that she would batter him to death. She also singlehandedly captures a group of bandits, and in another quest several of her opponents chose to forfeit rather than fight her.

2. Goldsmith from 50-60 isn't too serious of a story, it's about helping a married couple find the perfect present for each other, I found it rather heartwarming and I felt a lot of satisfaction completing it.

3. Armorsmith has a decent story also, the 50 quest in particular was pretty awesome.

She also singlehandedly captures a group of bandits, and in another quest several of her opponents chose to forfeit rather than fight her.

The thing I liked about this questline was it turned into a kind of reverse Relic Reborn where you were the smith restoring someone else's relic. We even went to get advice from Gerolt.

I also liked in the Armourer quest that when you go to each of the guildmasters they kind of go 'you know you should already know this' if you already have that class levels.

Dragoon was very good but scholar is still my favourite, all others were "ok" i suppose.

1) Summoner (great lore)
2) Astrologian (great characters and lore, fully fleshed out story)
3) Machinist (it was just plain fun IMO)
4) Dark Knight (FF4 throwbacks until 50, unexpected mini return of Moogle Hell Easy Mode at level 58)
5) Scholar (great lore up to level 50, boring after that)

Worst (IMO):
1) Paladin (boring)
2) Black Mage (boring)

Scholar probably best overall. Nice mixture of Eorzean lore with classic Final Fantasy monsters. Although Dark Knight 30-50 was really good, I still loved the twist ending even if it was quite obvious. Sadly 50 onwards for Dark didn't appeal at all.

I rushed DRK to 50 because the story for it was just so good. I forget what level it was, but the description of the quest when you clicked on Fray was "Fray has always been here" or something like that. Given everything else that had happened, it really piqued my curiosity in terms of who Fray actually was.

Sad to hear that 50+ isn't as good, but eh, DRK is fun. I can always use another 60 tank class.
