On-topic, Lore wise of the Jobs I finished, I'd have to say...AST. I enjoyed the tidbits of lore we get of Sharayan and a look at Hydealyn's constellations (and such proof that outside maybe Thavnair that the devs did not just copy-paste Earth's Starmaps for use with the job)

Well, it tried to do that but it ended up reducing the antagonists to a single predictable trope with very little of the intrigue that Ishgard is renowned for. This is unfortunately common elsewhere - 3.1 brought us another crazed Ishgardian complete with the ridiculous Hildibrand-esque over the top facial expressions - and it seems like the resolution of much of Ishgard's story is going to be tucked away in the Hildibrand quests themselves. I hope I'm wrong about that though.

I don't think so. Ishgard's story is more something that will be dealt with in the Scholisticate quests which aren't connected to Hildibrand save for the fact one character has crossed over from the 2.X Hildibrand quests and he has acted quite serious since he arrives.
