    Question regarding Blood Pepper Gardening.

So I recently decided to start gardening again after a few months of ignoring it. I wanted to try a hand at Blood Peppers.

The reason I quit gardening was that the nature of my job meant there were days where I would end up leaving my plots unwatered for more than 24 hours every 4-6 days. I quit gardening after my last batch of Glazenuts failed, so imagine my face when I got home from a 24+ hour shift with all my Glazenuts dead.

So... how sensitive are Blood Peppers to being unwatered for more than 24 hours? Glazenuts were notorious for dying if you missed a day, and I'm really unwilling to start gardening BPs if they'll just die on me...

I don't think (happy to be proved wrong!) that any of the plants die after a single day, from what I understand/my experience it takes either not being tended for longer (2+ days, probably varies per plant?) or having them go purple multiple times. I know I've personally had blood peppers go purple twice and still manage to grow them (both times were about 26 hours since the last tending), but yeh if you can't get on at least once a day or close to it, you might struggle and need assistance of friends/fc members (anyone can tend, even strangers, only those with permissions can fertilise though).

I believe if they're ready for harvest they just die instead of going purple, so it was likely that you managed to hit just the right day to not get to them. If it's a constant problem getting them tended/harvested with your work schedule then you may wish to get a gardening buddy you can trust with full permissions on the garden.

I'll probably be shot down for this but here's *my* experience:

Plants go purple (wilt) 24hrs after the last watering, HOWEVER, the higher tier plants from 2.x, like Glazenuts, Thavnairian Onions & Jute have turned purple on me at 18hrs. I always water these high tier plants at shorter intervals now. Every fertiliser application reduces the wilt time by one Earth Hour so ALWAYS water the plants immediately after you fertilise them to ensure a full "day" (18/24hrs) before next required watering.

Top tier plants in Heavensward, such as Blood Peppers, have not wilted on me during the 18-24hr time frame, but I'm not going to risk it again for science. Maybe Blood Peppers are not the top level of plants we will see in 3.x, thus they conform to the 24hr standard.

TL;DR - In my experience top level plants can wilt at 18 hours after the last watering so if you're growing those then ensure you can water them at the higher frequency.

Hmm... how about Thavnairian Onions? Are they at least more forgiving to grow than BPs?

No plants are forgiving. You have 24 hours (-1 hour per fertilizing) to tend or harvest. So again, if getting back before that 24 hour period is over is too much and you still want to make use of your garden, get a gardening buddy you can trust. I usually tend all the gardens I'm in charge of once in the morning and once at night just so I never reach beyond that 24 hour period. If you can't get someone to help you tend/harvest due to your work schedule the garden might be better replaced with some lawn furniture.

Nope, like I said in my post, they're less forgiving in my experience. Truth be told, unless you can guarantee that you'll be able to water any plants at least once every 23hrs then gardening isn't for you.
