What the hell is wrong with crafting?

The claims on DoL no longer hold true after L42 or so. Now that G6+ nodes have been removed, reaching 50 with DoL is harder than doing crafts.

Not true. One of my shell mates just picked up DoL again after not touching it in forever. He's gone from 20 to nearly cap in a week. I'd like to see anyone do that on a crafting class.

Here's another example of just how badly crafting is broken. I just got done mining some raw garnets to make up some earrings for Ifrit fight. @ level 50 GS, I get 0 (read that zero) xp for this synth. Yet 2 of the 6 synths had 5 (read that five) failed attempts 2 each crit fails. How can this be? BTW this with very good gear, only hitting 'standard' synth on white/yellow. It's just so damn frustrating to have to live with this bullsh*t RNG crap coding.

How? I am assuming gathering leves. When I use to be into DoL gathering leves were quite useless. Have I missed something on one of these past few patches?

I've been trying to skill up on wildfowl fletchings, current level 18, and I've been failing using both craftsmanship & magic craftsmanship. I would have moments where I would get nothing but successes on both but more often than not I would fail miserably using either set.

If every recipe uses either craftsmanship or magic craftsmanship than I should have seen some benefit from using a craftsmanship or magic craftsmanship set. Why am I failing miserably using both sets?

Either this hypothesis is bogus or something else is factoring in to the equation.

Something is seriously wrong with crafting. There is no way it should be this hard.
