Glamour Design Contest Idea

Okay so when it was time for 3.1 to launch Square Enix decided to make a Hair-Style Design Contest, which was a big success. Well what does everyone think about expanding that idea into creating new glamours for our characters. Everyone is always suggesting things they would like to see implemented into the game as a glamour, from specific fantasy ideas to some casual gear. This type of contest would give everyone the chance to show Square what they would like to add to the game. If this does become a thing having it drop for 4.0 would be awesome. Anyway here is the idea in detail.


The contest will have some basic rules for each category and some specific rules for that particular category as well. There will be three different categories, with the third one having a few sub-categories in it. Here are some basic ideas and rules that would be a nice starting point should Square decide to make this a reality.

Categories

Battle Glamour Design Section:
Description:

• Players are encouraged to design an outfit that shows that they are ready for battle, no matter the job they have currently equipped.

Rules:

• Outfit must include Head, Body, Hand, Leg, and Foot pieces.
• Gender differences are encouraged but not necessary
• Any gender differences must not be so drastic as to make the outfits look entirely different. (The Foot Piece may appear as long boots on a female character and short boots on a male, but may not be completely different in concept.)
• Be sure to keep in mind how each Job functions and how they move as some outfit ideas might become impractical when implemented into the game, such as capes and hoods. (Clipping)

Fantasy Glamour Design Section:
Description:

• Players are encouraged to design an outfit that captures the fantasy world around them.

Rules:

• Outfit must include Body, Leg, and Foot pieces; Head and Hand pieces are welcome but not mandatory
• Designs for this section may either consist of one outfit that has gender differences or two separate outfits that will be gender locked to each gender.
• Outfits may have similar designs but may also be gender locked if the designer specifies as such.
• If the outfit/outfits designed by the player are to be gender locked they will be completely gender locked, and the male outfit will not be unisex.

Casual Glamour Design Section:
Description:

• Players are encouraged to design a casual outfit that is perfect for all around fun, like running errands, hanging out, or even saving the world.

Rules:

• This category is divided into six sub-categories: Hyur, Elezen, Miqo'te, Au Ra, Lalafell, and Roegadyn
• Players will be allowed to enter between 1-3 design/s for this category depending on whether they entered the other categories or not.
• Outfit must include Body, Leg, and Foot pieces; Head and Hand pieces are welcome but not mandatory
• Although Head and Hand pieces aren't necessary, please add a design for the developers to use should one be needed during implementation of all the designs in this section.
• Outfits in this category will be designed to have a male and female version
• The male and female version do not have to match or look similar in anyway they are meant to represent that race in casual non-combative attire.
• The outfits that win this section will all be compiled into one item/s that will be labelled: Men's/Women's Casual Attire-Head Piece/Top/Gloves/Bottoms/Shoes. These items, similar to the Hempen Undergarments will change depending on both race and gender.

Overall Contest Rules:

• Players will be allowed to enter up to 3 different categories with a max of 6 designs, 3 male and 3 female. (one sub-category from Casual)
• Should a player choose to do so, they may enter all 3 submissions into the Casual Category; choosing 3 sub-categories instead of 1.
• Square Enix, reserves the right to alter a players design to better fit the dynamics of the game so long as the integrity of the design is maintained. (a design is too detailed so Square Enix minimizes it)
• Players will only be allowed to have one design that is a winner.
• Should player voting result in a tie between a designer in multiple categories, then the designer will be notified as to which one they would like to see featured in the game. The second place design in the other category will then be declared the winner.
• Drawing inspiration from popular sources is welcome
• Outright copying another artists design will not be accepted. This does not mean that an outfit design cannot resemble a famous design, but it must not be that exact outfit. (you can design an outfit that looks similar to Sora’s outfit from Kingdom Hearts, but the outfit cannot be it exactly.)
• Should a design be considered copyrighted then that design, and all other designs from that designer will be removed from the contest.

That is all I can think of for now. Please let me know if anyone else has any ideas for rules or names and stuff, or if you think this is a good idea?
