Time Travel and you

I do hope if we have some sort of time travel expansion/raid/whatever it's more in line with what Memoria was - Hydaelyn's memories that we're viewing for whatever reason. It would both be a callback to FF9 (which is one of my favorites in the series) plus it would actually fit in the story - us using the Echo to see the memories.

It would be incredibly sweet if they did just throw us back to pre-calamity days. Oh to walk through those zones again with the graphics of today would make my nostalgias tingle so hard.

The only issue would be finding out how to create the zones since they were so immense before, but then again the could technically do it since some areas had bottle necks, like traveling from central to any other part of coerthas, mor dhona and thanalan had narrow passages they could easily make zone gates. The only problem I think they would have doing so it the maze that was the shroud. All it was were tunnels basically and it took ages to traverse compared to other zones which would make some players extremely upset and likely loud about it. But it would still be oh so wonderful

Yeah sometimes I find myself missing 1.0 maps, I spent so much times in Coerthas doing botany & listening to the music. So I was definitely sad when SE decided to make Coerthas the snowy area considering how beautiful it was in 1.0. Also I loved the sense of danger each zone had, where it actually felt like a big dangerous world.

But sadly I highly doubt SE will ever let us truly "go back in time" and see it again, & like others have said when we do see it it will probably just be in the Echo.

We still have at least a couple opportunities to bring out other possibilities for Coerthas. I just hope at least one of those manages to give the same great stuff that the original did.

Canonically, Eastern Coerthas shouldn't be as snow covered as the rest of it. When we visit the Howling Eye aboard the Enterprise, we visit an area very similar to 1.0's Coerthas. At least, this is what I tell myself whenever I hear "Unspoken" crop up on my playlist...

Exactly the same here... I'm just really sad that the same hope doesn't exist for the misty west-by-southwestern river areas of the Shroud as well... since they went and turned them into barren crags, with little chance or reason at this point to retcon that choice. (To be clear, I don't mind the crags, I just wish they hadn't assigned to them the name of some of my favorite areas with zero connection to its former incarnation, e.g. Sorrel Havens.) We might one day end up with a revised and even improved Turning Leaf, though... Or, so I will dream.

I do remember travelling to Coerthas way back in the day as a lowbie. Avoiding strong monsters and checking out the scenery was both dangerous and amazing.
