Chat filter doesn't work

Housing: Not relevant
Steps:
1. I click the cogwheel under the chat window
2. I select the chat settings
3. I click the chat tab I want to set filters for
4. I try to tick or untick customly chosen boxes but they will not be ticked or unticked, only check all or uncheck all works
