Why are ranged using LB so much now?

Have to admit Tanks do get the raw end of the deal, only time I have seen it be viable is when your over-geared for the content and can pop it to ignore a mechanic. Wouldn't argue with a giant ultimate that a level 2-3 Tank LB is required, least I havn't run the Coils past the first turn so I don't know if that exists or not.

Two major times tank LB was great ->

1.World of Darkness when the raid derps and lets the boss get too many stacks of clouds.
2.T13 Teraflare
