Why do Archers suck so bad against Ifrit?

ARC was screwed the minute SE decided not to give it auto attack.

Yeah, but you can be far enough to never get hit by incinerate or the vulcan burst. My only r50 is Archer and Glad, so I'm using archer for ifrit. It goes really well till about 35% of his HP and then our tank dies and mages. I'm usually the last one standing lol BUT i'm trying to prove that you can finish ifrit with an archer... i just have to wait till all the other ones dont die on me ;P

I can really only complain about the damage. I dealt:
12 dmg per shot
30 crit dmg
55 with bloodletter
375 total dot from bloodletter
268 from foeseeker with 3 arrows

I put a lot of materia on my gear, basically:
atk power + 22
crit atk power + 40 and +35
str and dex + 7

and the changes were:
14 per shot
34 crit
64 bloodletter
still 375 with dot
288 foeseeker

so its kinda sad

vulken burst yeah but incinerate doesn't quite work like that, it can spawn under any charater, word is it is second highest person in threat, not 100% sure this is the case but it makes a lot of sense, which would explain why it does not spawn under you.

thing to remember, arcs role is changing, and cross class magic doesnt suck as much any more, since weapons seem not to effect mpotency. Archer has highest mp on a DoW.

Incinerate is that flame he throws in front of him. You're talking about the eruption ;P Yeah we have to dodge that a lot lol but you can actually predict more or less when he's gonna do an attack. After he dashes, he'll jump to the tank again, attack him and do an eruption, burst or the plume ;P
