    Why do Archers suck so bad against Ifrit?

    I play a R50 Archer and really it is the only class I care to play at the moment til Musketeer comes out. I admit we were pretty OP at one point in time but we have been nerfed so hard that we aren't even usable on the Ifrit fight. I watch all the Lancers in my LS hit Ifrit with TP moves for 700 damage yet the highest mine does fully buffed is 200 something. I just want Archer to be even with the other DD classes also Multishot only gets TP from the first arrow? What gives? Atleast let us get base TP from the first arrow then half of that for each successful nocked arrow that lands. I don't mind the damage nerfs as far as the Raging Strike buff goes and stuff like that. Hopefully these balance changes are coming in 1.20.

    Archer got a solid year of being the end all be all DPS be happy with that. Most times when nerfs happen they are not perfect. Usually the class getting nerfed after a long time on top gets nerfed way to hard. It sounds like thats what happened to archer. Will there be a correction? Maybe in time but I dont think many people have the sympathy to whine and cry for archers enough for SE to react sooner than later.

    Is this right? No but hey atleast your main isnt cul, the worst class in the game STILL by far.

    I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

    yeah im really hoping that the class rebalancing fixes the issue, I mean I'm LNC so I'm loving the attention, but I hate to have to exclude folks on our hardcore Ifrit runs, give all DoW a DSII equivalent and it would fix the issue for the most part.

    ws damage aside, the dagger in the heart for archers in the Ifrit fight is that just about everything they do, including their regular shots, comes with an animation lock, which makes archer far more likely to get nailed by eruption/plume

    True but that really just takes practice, and because they dont have a decent WS for the fight they dont get to practice.

    Yeah, but you can be far enough to never get hit by incinerate or the vulcan burst. My only r50 is Archer and Glad, so I'm using archer for ifrit. It goes really well till about 35% of his HP and then our tank dies and mages. I'm usually the last one standing lol BUT i'm trying to prove that you can finish ifrit with an archer... i just have to wait till all the other ones dont die on me ;P

    I can really only complain about the damage. I dealt:
    12 dmg per shot
    30 crit dmg
    55 with bloodletter
    375 total dot from bloodletter
    268 from foeseeker with 3 arrows

    I put a lot of materia on my gear, basically:
    atk power + 22
    crit atk power + 40 and +35
    str and dex + 7

    and the changes were:
    14 per shot
    34 crit
    64 bloodletter
    still 375 with dot
    288 foeseeker

    so its kinda sad
