Lifetime subscription & Changing name clarification

Hi all.

I have 2 questions:

1) Has Yoshi-P mentioned anything about lifetime subscriptions, once we have to start paying? I'd rather pay a full cost upfront personally.

2) I haven't seen Yoshi-P or the devs mention anything explicitly saying that we will be able to change our names once the new races arrive (Race, appearance, etc has been mentioned but not name changes). I just want to make sure this will be an option. Anyone seen anything?

Again no, to redo our looks as the Engine is new, So things will be different.
But I've seen nothing one names, and personally would prefer it not to happen or at least have a way to tell who the person was before.

If they do lifetime subs it'll probably cost you $200 if cryptic is any clue. Plus SE charges per character which will add another layer of complexity for figuring out lifetime sub fees.

$200 + $10 per additional slot, maybe? Also, it's possible they might change their billing method such that you aren't paying extra for character slots, which would be nice.

i dont forsee them allowing lifetime subs. 200 bucks is just 45 bucks shy of a years subscription. Also the fact you can buy as much crysta as you desire. So I guess technically you could buy as much as you want

I'd rather pay lifetime now than monthly fees for an unfinished game. Se would get money and player commitment right away and I'd get to play when I want to. Seems like a win-win situation to me. Price probably should be higher than 200 though.

99% sure if they are letting us "Remake our character" that includes names. Some people picked names based on whatever race/gender they were currently and would be boned if they couldn't change the name.

Take LOTRO example, $15 monthly (used to) and $299 lifetime subscription option. With an interest rate of 10% (as an example), that takes 10.8 years for the lifetime subscription to pay out, and you have to add 1 month free trial on top of that. So unless you're playing the game constantly without break for 11 years+, lifetime subscription is a scam.

erm wtf you talking about lol. even at 12bucks a month for a year that is 144buck a years, in 2years you would almost pay for it. in 3years your making out. i played ffxi for 5years so i'd be happy to buy a lifetime plan, fact it might be the only few ways they can get me to pay and play for the next year. i think your doing the math wrong or i just don't get the rocket science your spewing.

but also i have not played another mmo since ffxi for more then a year, they don't live up to it and i can't see any other game hold me down like that. i defenetly don't see ffxiv at it's state now or possibly in 2013 doing the same so i might be worried bout paying 300bucks up front to them. but i'm still for them adding this option to the very least the players who have been playing threw the crap with them.

15 x 12 = 180$

299 + 10% = 328,8 = 329$

329 / 180 = 1,82 = 1 year 8 months

I dont see the reason for play 11 years to pay out for the life time subscription but 2 years.
