    Best Load times for PS3?

A lot of content today is farming the same dungeon/instance repeatedly.. i guess it always has been lol.. but now with like.. 3min ravana kills, and it taking me 45seconds-1minute to load... Wheres is the best location to put my character to minimize load screens? when I'm in Idyllshire its nearly double the load times. Not sure if this is a thing, but yeah please let me know if there is a way and no i'm not gonna pay 120$ for an add-on to ps3 lol, this is the only game i play so i can't justify buying a 400$ ps4+game or a 1200$ PC :O

I mean you can run FFXIV fine on, like, a $400 PC....
but back when I had my potato laptop I loaded in quickly with places that had no people around....that can vary from server to server but for me it was anywhere that wasn't a hub, so no Idyllshire, no Limsa. Usually just field maps would work.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

Inn room or the deserts of Thanalan seem to be fastest.

When i was on PS3, i was going to the gridanian inn room if i was farming something. It loads super fast but also the gridanian one loads faster than the other ones for some reason.

A SSD made my ps3 about as fast as my hubbies ps4. It would win sometimes and lose others (within seconds) This will affect all NPC and Map Load times.

Put everything on limited and outside your party on off. Your PS3 getting hot will also slow it down considerably.

When I was on PS3 just staying in the FC house or inn made load times better. If you stay in an open area( Hinterlands) or a city your loadtimes will be slower than normal.

Ultimately I would recommend you save up for a PS4 or gaming PC because eventually within the next year or 2 you wont be able to play the next expansion on PS3.

Didn't SE said they would support the PS3 until 4.0?

Also im not concerned anymore because im on PS4, but does dropping PS3 support mean to stop updating the game even with hotfixes, or shutting down the PS3 client entirely so its only PS4/PC ?

I know you said you don't want to, but You should really consider investing in a ps4. They will eventually discontinue support for the PS3, so you won't be able to use it forever.

Also, rumor has it they're making a new PS4 with a more powerful GPU and CPU for about 400-500 dollars, and it will be capable of running games at 4k resolution (i'm calling it the PS4k)

Put away a dollar a day for a year and a half, and boom you have a PS4

A SSD is a temporary investment that will cost you about ~$90 for a 120 GB one. You can transfer it to your PS4 when you get one to make it perform better as well. (I outpace hubbies load times by 15 or more seconds on most maps, its almost instantaneous) You will eventually want a ps4 because a SSD bring you from terrible to acceptable and a ps3 to ps4 brings you from acceptable to appreciable. :3
