Okay, not so newbie but help please?

I have to buy a chocobo licence to progress the storyline. I don't have enough of the Grand Company Seals (GCS) - having spent what I had on Ventures. So my question is in 2 parts:

    1) What's the best/cheapest/quickest way of getting venture tokens?

    2) How do I earn these GCS in the quickest/easiest possible fashion?

Just do some Fates, at 200 seals it'll only take a couple.

The first entry in Grand Company hunting log grants you 240 seals. Plenty to buy a chocobo.

One very fast method is to do the leveling roulette which awards roughly 1000 or more seals per run.

    1. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...5/blog/102567/ <--- find level appropriate ones, pick out the ones that reward Venture, repeat, ????, profit! If you get high enough level and unlock the Beastman dailies, those reward 1 venture per quest if I recall (I know Ixali did at least). I am sitting on 200 Venture atm, cannot spend them as fast as I make them now

    2. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...5/blog/102567/ <--- Find the level appropriate NPC that say: Grand Company (your company name here) Leves. Doing the Leves from your company NPC will give you bonus seals over doing them from another companies NPC. Also - sometimes there are no fates up, sometimes your class is not in demand in roulette (99% of the time it seems to be Tank), so no bonus for you... The Leves are repeatable, easy, and if you pick out the right one, very spammable / fast. If not, yea the first hunt (under H) gives seals, now that the chocobo license isn't expensive anymore, that is a good way to go, after you till out those hunting logs, you will have to find other ways to earn seals, if you are after any other items later on.

That's very kind and helpful all, thank you! Have I misread though? I thought the chocobo licence was 2,000gcs, not 200gcs?

It used to be, but the Flame/ Storm/ Serpent chocobo issuance was just changed (in 3.25 on Tuesday) to be 200 seals instead of 2,000. This should make it even faster to obtain.

For right now GC leves are probably the quickest easiest way to amass a few needed seals in a hurry, however FATES are also a very good source and if you get into crafting and gathering those [daily] turn ins reward a very hefty amount of seals and a ton of exp. "Expert" delivery also rewards lots of seals, especially at level cap (any armor you find in dungeons can be turned in for seals scaling with item level).

Since eventually GC seals are so plentiful I typically use them to buy ventures like you did, but I don't think you really have more seals than you know what to do with until later.

You are right, it does cost 2000 ish. What they meant is that the grand CO hunt log rewards 200 or so seals per set killed. There are about 10 sets per 10 levels so at lv 30 you can farm the hunt log for a few thousand seals.
