Is there a possibility of updating some of the textures?

Look, it's been discussed plenty of times in the pastl.

And as it has also been discussed, simply release the high rez texture pack for the PC players that can actually utilize it. Seriously, there is zero reason not to do this. Why invest in a high performance machine when companies are constantly using lower texture packs? Should we just go back to 8-bit games. It's time to step up and push the limits of our machines, and for those using older equipment or consoles, no big deal, you can continue to use the lower textures. But just release all the textures so those that can actually use them can do so.

Either SE can make/create a HD texture pack available for download for PC users, or they should announce that they will allow a user created HD texture pack to be used with the game. I fully support the addition of a HD texture pack because, as has been stated, a lot of the textures look very poor when viewed up close. Hope we see HD textures in the future!

the fact to offer the possibility to use HQ texture is not against the game, from the start they must create the game with the hq texture and compress it after. why not release the hq texture as a pack for the player that want to add it to them game, it's easy to add (like for the dx11 version) a simple choice to use in the setting of the launcher and everyone will be happy. people with ps3-ps4-low and medium pc can still have the same game and have access to the same gaming experience, the one that can run the hq texture will be able to have the same game, with simply better texture.

to the note i doubt my computer will be able to run the game with hq texture, but the fact to offer the choice is more important than all.

If they had an "Appearance" folder for textures we could mod and update the textures ourselves with no work for the developers. PS4/PS3 users wouldn't be affected or complain about it either.

Let the players just do it themselves. No need to pull resources from other parts of the game.

I don't know what machine you have but I can tell you that a HQ texture pack will not severely harm the performance (except if you have a rly rly weak machine that struggles even with the lowest current settings and your VGA is many years old). There will be also ppl who will prefer the HQ textures over other settings and compensate their settings. That's the good about the freedom of choice on PC with the graphic settings. You can turn on the ones you prefer mostly and turn off others to get more performance. The choice never harmed anyone.

And as Yoshi is also a big fan of the older style FF games (he's on record as saying his favourites are FFIII and VII), I don't think you will see any major change in the graphic engine any time soon... if at all.

Major change in the graphics engine? How is updating the crappy floor textures a major change? Why do higher end machines need to suffer because of the lower end ones? Why can't I have the option to have higher, or lower textures? I'm not suggestinga forced change for everyone, I am suggesting options for people that can have high resolution textures. Why use the arguement of making the textures suffer for the sake of gameplay and "story"? Making the ground look a little better is not the biggest request that I have seen posted here.

A game does not instantly require a HD pack to run, you can toggle or disable HD texture packs at will these days so low end users can play without the need, while high end players get what they want, WIN WIN WIN.
