Small correction - that charming fellow isn't the leader. The leader, Luciane, is much more welcoming (course, if I hadn't sat on this page for a while before responding, I would have seen that PArcher already mentioned this).

That being said, Silvairre seems to take it a step further than just race, as he seems to believe that only native Gridanian Wildwood should be taught (there are some lines that I'm pretty sure make that distinction) and even starts out by considering it a bad thing to teach my character...a non-native to Gridania Wildwood Elezen.

Then there's the miqo'te male who (apperantly) has eyes for the hyur cnj ... who happens to be stalked by a female miqo'te hiding herself in the dividers

It's just before you speak to F'hammin, you can see a female miqo'te starting wistfully at a male hyur conj from behind a screen.

Just before you first talk to Hildebrand's miqo'te friend, there is also a lalafell stating wistfully at her from across the alley...

There's some new NPC chatter outside the AST trainer that involves a hyur woman being forced into a marriage with an elezen male, and afterwards she stares wistfully at another (poor) elezen

It seems to me like hyur and miqo'te are the ones most willing to interact with and bang other races

If you look really really close, she actually has short pointy ears, I was disappointed when I saw that was the case

I think her sister's reticence is more based on how quickly things were progressing between the two...

And her distaste was that they were having sex about 10 yards from her while she was sleeping.

Basically, she's calling her sister a slut.

What about Senor Sabotender goosing the female customers at the Gold Saucer? What's going on there I wonder...

Found the Hyur and Roe in Aleport - they are along the top path area being yelled at by their captain. You have to walk near the Miqo'te conversing with another nearby to get the context for why he's threatening to throw them in the brig...namely that it was probably more their choice of location than their fraternization.

Which feels like it fits - military personnel ending up closer (both camaraderie and in other ways) due to shared life experiences trumping race, basically.

I tried to find the mischievous potato doing that and actually didn't see anything matching that description.

Aha! I thought it was them, but they didn't say anything and I was wondering if they were or not the ones and nothing pointed out and I even walked near the Miqo'te but no dialogue box popped up.

I really wish you can just trigger their dialogue instead of waiting for them to speak at times and when it looks like nothing will happen at all.

*Sigh*... How I wish my character could date Y'shtola, Hilda, Ysayle, or Yugiri at one point in the game. They really are remarking character with intriguing personalities.

Now going with Hilda... do Adventurers often have kids with each other? I really hope and like Yoshi-P expands this in upcoming patches to see hybrid children of Adventurers wandering around somewhere. Reminds of another MMO I played, which was Free to Play.

It's called LaTale and the main heroine NPC of the game's story, Iris, who the player is searching for that's gone missing that she was born a Derr offspring between a Human and Derr (not sure which parent was which race though I suspect the husband was the human and the mom the Derr) yet it was always told that any offspring between a Derr and a Human would end up a Human but Iris ended up mysterious a Derr child instead.

Though we're never told how many couples between those two were so the numbers might've been low and like how you get either a boy or a girl there's a 50% chance if could be a Human or not. Well seeing as FFXIV Lore mentions the child will always be the same as the mother.

Adventurers can't really afford not to be tolerant. As someone mentioned earlier, they take jobs from a variety of people. Refusing to take gil from certain types because of rascism could keep them from putting food on the table. Not to mention showing disdain for clients can keep them from getting hired, with similiar results.

But there's also the fact their job often lands them in multi-racial parties and groups for dungeons, raids, and other battles. At that point, intolerance could not only cost them money, but also their lives. After all, rascism often comes with a degree of mistrust, and you need to be able to trust your party with your life if you want any chance in hell of surviving, much less succeeding.

Put these two factors together, and even the most rascist person to join the Adventurer's Guild will have to swallow their prejudice at some point or another. Those that don't will cease being adventurers...One way or another.

The treatment of the different races is kinda odd if there's supposed to be tension. XI handled racial tensions better. Non-Elvaan in San d'Oria? You'd be looked down on. Same with the Galka in Bastok - they were treated as nothing more than disposable labor forces. The Mithra and Tarutaru seemed to get along pretty well though. I always figured that Eorzea was a melting pot and that the differing races had gotten acclimated to each other.

And I just noticed that both games had a prevalent female human/elf hybrid.

Just completed the Lv50 - 60 CUL Questline and it involves a female Lalafell who is (obviously) in love with a male Miqo'te even though she wants to knock some sense into him and become his old humble cooking self.

Another different race coupling in Limsa Lominsa and no one seems to mind, even the Captain mention their "lovers' farce" but is OK with it.

Do any of the other Crafting Quests from HW have other different race couples?
