Changing personal house to fc house?

Hiyas! So my wifey and I were interested in buying a house for teh gardening plots. A small house opened up and I was not able to do a lot of research before buying it, as housing is of course extremely limited. We jumped on teh house that opened up. We chose it as a personal house, but want to make it an FC house now. Is there any way to change it, or do we just have to relinquish the land and spend millions more to re-purchase the land as fc land???

Sorry, but there's currently no way to convert a house from personal to FC (or vice versa). You'd have to relinquish it and then immediately buy it again as a free company house. You could also wait the 45 days and get it back via demolishing and then buy it again, but even knowing the approximate time they email you would be risky and it'd possibly be offset by any maintenance and there's a chance someone else will snap up the house before you can.

They've mentioned a house moving tool might come in the future, but no confirmation as to when or what that will actually do.

Thank you for teh reply, I coudl understand maybe demolishing the house, and having to "rebuild" it as an fc house, but to not be able to switch is just silly. SO many things right and SO many things wrong with our game. I was concerned if i bought it as an fc house, other fc members might be able to come and steal stuff or even possibly take the house. And land being SO limited, I rushed into it. Oh well.

You can set all those permissions (furniture moving, furniture removal, garden planting, garden harvesting, etc) after you get the house for the fc. They're added in next to the current permission tabs for the ranks.

Thanks Dustytome, but sadly, I do not have teh kind of funds that would allow me to relinquish teh land, and then rebuy it for however many millions of gil it would cost. So it will stay a personal house. they relaly should make an option to change. So much of this game already requires google in order to play it. Should have been a warning that you cannot change from personal to FC or vice versa when buying teh house.

Yeah, the housing system is half baked at best. There are many things like this wrong with it.

If you just want to share it with your wife you can set her as a tenant and give her full perms which will behave pretty much the same, except your fc mates cannot use it

I would love to, but we cannot place an aether table, the "company chest" on our private house is linked to our fc chest. So we wanted to switch it to an fc house and have a sister FC to make extra fc buff crystals and extra storage. I have filled up my 8 retainers already.

I would love a GM to assist with this. It is totally not fair, that there is no warning that you cannot switch your land, again, demolishing everything inside would suck, but least being able to change the land should be allowed.

I mean you no disrespect, but there's also no indication that you would be allowed to switch it. It asks what type you want to buy it as, that's all. I've personally never seen anything from SE that implied it would be changeable, that was an assumption on your part.

That being said, I do agree with you and think it would be good if you could switch a personal house into a FC house (but not a FC house into a personal house as there should be no need for that and I can just imagine the number of issues that'd cause), but they probably won't as it'd just make it even somewhat easier to do "house sales/swaps" as it's much more attractive to someone to buy it for a fixed price WITH the house (even if they have to rethink what FC they are in).

Yes it was an assumption on my part, but with housing so limited, and other people standing around trying checking it out. I had to make a decision on the spot, without getting to read through reddit and the forums and everywhere else but IN GAME. Where it should warn you. For all I knew, buying it as FC land, ment it would go to the owner of the FC, again more assumptions, as it does not tell you these things in game. But I doubt any GM can do anything to help. As much as I appreciate what they have to deal with on their end. But, it is annoying that a lot of this game has to be played by consulting google before you do anything.
