you need to suck it up, my little Hyur. This, in my opinion, is part of the challenge with 3.0 gathering. You can't gather EVERYTHING and fi you try this is what you get. It keeps prices from being too inflated(in theory) and it gives us gatherers more of a challenge.

It's not a challenge, its tedium. And making all the folklore spawn at the same time doesn't stop prices from being inflated, it's what's causing them to be inflated in the first place.
My biggest gripe is that when you change to a gatherer from another job, you will get only get 400/600 GP regardless of where you are. So on your first node you will be short on GP just because the game says so
400 is the base GP. Although it is not stated anywhere, your combat and crafting classes all have that base 400 GP. If you were to meld 50 GP to your combat gear, then spend a lot of time in that particular class/job, changing to a gathering class would see you at 450 GP rather than just 400.
IMO that hidden stat should be set at 2000, or your MP level, whichever is higher. It would not permit you to class swap for a complete refill, but it would enable you to refill to max while on other classes/jobs.
I remember the days when you would start with 0 GP coming from other jobs, 400 is pretty nice.
