Interesting idea I had for the Red Mage

I just had a really random thought on how Red Mage could work, and wanted some feedback on what you thought.

I was thinking about how Archanist can become Summoner or Scholar, and then it hit me, what if for the Red mage you literally had a character that was both?

So on a basic level imagine you had an ability that when you activated it literally switched you to a full on DPS, or to a full on Healer, so kind of like Cleric stance but MUCH more detailed.

Like give it a pretty long cooldown so it is not spamable and maybe either have gear that somehow works for both a healer and a DPS or make it so that when you switch between classes you switch between gear sets.

What do you think? As a basic idea?

Then we have the problem of t not being good at both at the same time. Red Mage is damn near impossible to get the proper feeling for it. LAst I heard, the last build of Red Mage they designed was OP as shit, and the build before that was utter garbage. They may in fact do something similar to this but, I just know what we get in the end wont be what anyone expects

This game kinda needs to plug Jobs as specific roles, so unless they've got a fairly substantial overhaul planned I can't see that happening. Red Mages best bet is to be a Healer, then it has access to cures and nukes, and they can throw in some sword play for fun... Either that or something similar to Summoner, which has Physich and Resurrect, despite being a DPS. Anything beyond that and you just start making the Job way too overpowered...

Personally, I just want Red Mage to be a mix of Bravely Seconds Wizard and Fencer classes... Fencer stance for either strong physical or strong magical attacks, with a combo moving you through the stance naturally, perhaps with the same trait that retains the benefits of one stance for a few turns... Then slap on Wizards Spellcrafting, along with an entire host of Elemental Magic to allow the Job to use the Elemental Wheel, something like; You cast Water on the enemy, so now its wet and weaker to Lightning. The Spellcrafting effects could have some interesting synergy, most of the ones in Bravely Second are kinda limited to how it plays (turn based), but something like Hammer, which makes the spell deal physical damage, would stack up very nicely with the Fencer side of things... Mist turns the spell into a DoT, Blast makes it AoE, Wall could be interesting to support Tanks, Rain could be changed to apply a special debuff to exploit the Elemental Wheel... Arrow could apply an En-effect... Not sure Needle or Dart can translate into XIV well, even off the name...

They should do it like an old Enhancement Shaman - Melee primary auto attacks, with elementally infused weapons that weave in random spells like nighting and fire plus lots of utility such as bloodlust, totems, etc... Make them middle of the pack on everything. Middle of the pack heals, middle of the pack DPS, but able to fill any roll - like an old D&D Bard
