You know that they can be totally ignored, right? They never say anything in the chat, they never add up far enough to max out they chat. They might be a blight, but people make way too big a deal of this. Hell, the complainers are more annoying at this point.
No one likes RMT, but keep things in perspective.
It's a valid concern, seeing the NN filled with dozens of RMT doesn't really inspire confidence in New players. You know that they can be totally ignored, right? There is another way they could be invited. If the RMT people have a mentor in there, when an RMT is booted, it re-adds them.
I'm not in the mentor channels, but an FC mate of mine is. He said 12 bots were kicked just last night, on Coeurl. >_>
100% this. You know that they can be totally ignored, right? They never say anything in the chat, they never add up far enough to max out they chat. They might be a blight, but people make way too big a deal of this. Hell, the complainers are more annoying at this point.

Most people wouldn't even take notice of bots, if not for the people who go on bot-kicking sprees, spamming the channel with
<so and so was kicked by Mentor
Reason: bot>
Now just imagine that spammed 20+ times in your chat. It got to such a point on Balmung, that actual novices were asking to be removed from the chat because they were tired of the spam.
And then someone booted the mentor that was doing it and it became quiet and everyone was happy.
*edit starts here*
and I also want to add, that kicking bots is a practice in futility.
They will be added after 30 minutes, automatically. Once a player has been added to the Novice Network as a new adventurer, the only way out is to remove your NA status.
The fact that people don't realise this (Actually had some people try to tell me that's 'not how it works') is the most baffling part.
I'm Glad SE made a tool that makes it soooo EASY for Real players so see how little they are doing about the issue.
Oh what is this? I always saw people from Balmung denying the existance of RMT spam.

I used to be on Phoenix before transferring to a bit lower populated server. Phoenix has an extremely low amount of RMT activity in general because of the high population it's harder to get the accounts on, my first few weeks of being on Sargatanas was a huge culture shock and felt like I couldn't even use the /tell tab because any time i stopped looking at the game for a few minutes I'd have 2 - 5 new RMT tells.
