I hadn't really seriously considered hunts as at a glance they look slow. 500 centurio seals per item and the hunts give a small amount of seals. I think I will give this a try now, 5-6 unidentified items in 2 hours sounds unreal. Right now I'm getting like 4 PER DAY.

As long as you know what you're doing and most of the hunts are up, then yes (5-6 items in 2 hours is best case scenario and that would normally mean an end to the hunt for 2-3 hours). I'm also pretty certain that you need 1000 Allied seals per item, and the Centurio don't actually work towards any of the unidentified items. This means that it's probably a good idea to do ARR Hunts + their dailies & weeklies if you want to stay productive. The point is that if you have a legitimate "Hunt" going on, then you can normally knock out 12 or so marks every hour, and S ranks will give a ton of seals & tomes.

Also keep in mind that you can still do the Roulettes & Beast quests as well since the Roulettes give great tome value for the time you put in, and Heavensward Beast Tribe items can be turned into any of the items (meaning that you can essentially stock a ton of them and wait to turn them into an item until you figure out which ones you need).
