Making Gil without crafting/gathering: Is it Possible?

This is kind of the point of them adding crafting mats to stuff like coil. So you can kill bosses and get things to sell.

Yes it's probable to make gil outside of being a gatherer/crafter. I was originally making a how-to guide as a response. (Denied by character limit). Then later tried making a new thread topic (Denied again by character limit).

The simple answer is, "Yes, just play the market board." However, since I can't fully explain it (nor do I have the patience of making multiple sub-threads). You'll have to read a book on economic trends and analysis. Cheers!

Do DoW retainers return anything worth selling at max level? If so I'm thinking about buying the ability to add 2 more. It will take a long time to level them but the sooner I get started, the better. Right now my DoW retainers are 35/26 so I still have a long way to go for them to get to 60.

Obviously depends on your server, but yes, they do.

How against crafting are you? I would recommend desynthesis. It's a great supplement for making gil through battle. You won't actually have to craft anything outside of unlocking and possibly leveling the skill. You'll need to invest some gil into it, but it should pay off fairly quickly.

I take zero enjoyment out of anything in the game that does not involve combat. I do have over 500 ventures, however. So far anything I can buy with GC seals sells for nothing on the MB, so I'm thinking if I get a bunch of retainers at high level maybe I can get them to provide something useful. Trouble is, my highest one is currently 36 so I'm not sure what they can bring in at 50+.
