    Misc. Tank Stat/Gear Questions

Is stat priority the same on all 3 tanks? For PLD I *think* the following applies:
    Accuracy to cap
    VIT
    STR
    Crit
    Det
    Skill speed

So aside from weapon, would you gear all 3 tanks virtually the same? Like right now I have PLD, working on a mixed set of i220 and i230 gear - and all equippable by PLD DRK & WAR. I think DRK and WAR have a target skill speed requirement (being able to hit 3 fell cleaves in a berserk window for example?) - what are these target #s and are they more important than any other stat until reached (like accuracy)?

Another piece of this question would pertain to melding as I've got PLD and I'm working on WAR (prolly DRK eventually too), and I wonder if shared gear would meld the same. Right hand side ideal is fending accessories melded with STR? Then I presume left hand side (armor) is where it might get different for each tank if they do in fact share the same pieces (currently)?

Gear selection for the 3 tanks just seems a bit bland and admittedly I don't know the subtle differences for each job. Not new to tanking but pretty new to FFXIV still and "endgame" gearing to get the most out of each job.. Thanks.

It's the same for each class, my pld works perfectly fine with all the sks my drk uses. W/food my drk has 685 sks. Generally you do vit/str -> crit -> sks -> det. You want lower sks for pld if that's the only one you play, otherwise don't break 685 sks for drk and you'll be fine.

You should be aiming for VIT(STR materia in accessories) > Acc until at cap > Crit > Det/SKS

    For WAR you're looking at:

VIT(STR materia in accessories) > Acc until at cap > SKS(Enough to reach a 9 hit Zerk) > Crit > Det

I currently have 682 SKS on my WAR and it seems to work just fine for fitting a triple cleave into Zerk and having a GCD left over.

For your melds Accessories are always STR and left side is whatever stat isn't capped on the secondaries. If the pieces is lacking in Crit meld Crit, if it's Crit capped go Det unless you need ACC. If ACC is low you can supplement with melds. Current highest ACC needed is 723 I believe for M4S.

Tanks don't meld acc, our gear has more than enough for it

Which is why I added "If ACC is low". That was the only mention of melding accuracy.

As a tank, and only if you plan on hitting savage, first aim for 650 accuracy without tank stance/food, that will carry you through a5-6s. Then at least 560 skill speed, after that as much crit as you can, supplement with det.

I do believe you on this. I've played alot of MMOs endgame but still am still learning a bit in FFXIV. Is there some math or numbers you have by chance to show why this is? i.e. 650 accuracy grants +10% hit and we have by default -10% hit? Apologies if this is obvious in someway.

Also, I'm playing DRK as my main, is 560 sks the same target for WAR and DRK? Sounds like PLD prioritizes a bit differently?

New content comes with new accuracy requirements. When new content is released players compare notes on how much accuracy they had and whether or not their skills missed at all. The goal is to never miss, but you also don't want to stack excess Accuracy because that's just wasted stats once your hit rate is 100% on the top content. There's always a sweet spot determined for exactly how much accuracy you need
