Direct X Error

For some reason everytime I go to minimize my game, or I try to answer a call from skype with keyboard shortcuts it will kick me out of game and close the game client with a direct X error.. ive reinstalled Direct x.. still not working.

The game will crash if you minimize when running in windowed mode, or if you alt+tab (or other program gains focus) when running fullscreen.
There is nothing you can do about this, other than no minimizing it.

Weird. I can minimize my FFXIV just fine on windowed mode.

But yeah full-screen mode will crash like Loth said.

If you require using the internet while playing FFXIV in fullscreen mode, run it via Steam. You can use the Steam community services and there's a simple web browser and these can be accessed while in fullscreen.
