Until now other than JP data center community is really that bad? I mean, I keep seeing "toxic and salty in DF" thread in this place while I only use auto-translate <Let's do it!> and <Good game!> when doing DF.

One thing I've come to expect on the Internet, is to never expect people to be nice and/or respectful.
Above all, some of these disrespectful players think they can throw their e-peens / crowns (I'm looking at you mentors!) around like it has tonnage.
I'd say the next time something like this happens, laugh it off, share the love in the DF Horror Stories thread, and then remind yourself, you play this game for your own enjoyment.
Life's too short to take a bunch of rude people on the internet seriously.![]()
Achievement Unlocked: LOLGOON
This ^ Sadly some people just enjoy the misery of others, so you win by not even letting them ruffle your feathers. I mean... Blm saying someone is pulling to many mobs? As a Blm when I see big pulls I smile, as should any great blm.
But on another note. Rhyku said it best. Don't let them ruin your experience, and enjoy the game and all its greatness. And a little tip that you may know or may not know, Nin can dish out great Aoe damage. I'm new to Nin, but always willing to share what I know to help out...
Once the tank get officially settled throw down the Doton, during this moment reset your haste with armor crush and then once your ninjitsu is close to ready, pop blood for blood, and internal release. Then throw Katon fire aoe, Kassatsu, then throw another Katon aoe fire, followed by repeated death blossoms. With blood for blood up and internal release, and haste up, you can throw them fast and they become another heavy dot within themselves. Sometimes i can crit each death blossom for 1k + like this.
Hope I helped out a little, enjoy the game, forget about that dude, and make friends doing the little things in game. You'd be surprise some of the people you meet. Cause if you ever feel yourself getting to grindy, just always remember, Yoshi P put a lot of different stuff in this game, and I mean a lot, just look at the market boards. LOL Take care, and just enjoy learning new stuff everyday![]()

Let's get one thing straight. The community in the game IS aggressive BUT, it is also oversensitive. People tend to feel attacked whenever they are given advice, be it in PC form or directly. Bad players get cuddled and carried all the time. Sure I don't kick or leave every time I encounter a less than perfect player but I do try and give them advice and if it is received badly and they start arguing, there is either the vote kick (I usually am in a dungeon with my OH) or I leave.
OT, never punish the rest of the party because one player is an idiot. If you really don't want to leave, just close your chat and continue the dungeon not paying attention to the person. Why do others have to suffer double? You would be out of that person's face sooner if you would just hurry up and finish the dungeon. Of course, you usually can vote kick even though it wasn't possible here.
I am usually a very patient person (too patient at times) but there are limits and never would i act like an idiot because another player annoys me.

@OP's original post:
Just...some people take advice as an insult and criticism as harrassment. Sometimes it's just better to keep one's mouth shut and leave the party silently if the people you're with suck so much that they're disfunctionally bad and either failing or significantly slowing down the group. If the bad players start being unable to complete content they will come out and ask for help on their rotation/mechanics/etc. Or, if their ego's that huge that they didn't think they did anything wrong, they might just quit and say this game is too hard. I am personally OK with either outcome.
Pretty sure politeness went out the window with the anonymity of the internet. When people can be rude with no real consequences with a seemingly positive effect on their time... then they will be rude.
People are saying to run the roulettes with a full FC party but that's not a sure fire thing either. I've run an expert with a 4 person premade and had one person just drop the dungeon without a word on the final boss. In a premade you can't simply look for a new member and we tried but couldn't three man the boss, so we had to abandon. Needless to say, I have never run anything with that guy ever again.
Correct.. I've been kicked quite a few times for not pulling big enough mobs back when I used to tank.. part of the reason I don;t do it anymoreTo me, the biggest problem in this story is that the tank feels if he doesn't pull more than he's comfortable pulling he will get kicked out of the group.
I mean seriously, is that what it's come to?
At the same time there's another thread on the forum asking why people hate tanking.
Gee. I have this odd feeling there's a connection between these two things, but I just can't put my finger on what it is ...
Wish I could see a screenshot of the banter. Because I feel like I'm not getting the whole story. I've been attacked as a "toxic" person for pointin out a dPS in the group was ignoring mechanics and just relentlessly attacking the boss.
For pointing that out I get "toxic behavior like this blah blah, if you noticed what the NIN was doing the whole time that means you weren't doing enough." I have to defend this claim against me. I say "I didn't make any mechanical mistakes and I assure you my DPS is beyond satisfactory."
I'm the one getting called toxic. Am I suppose to just sit there and let the nin ignore mechanics everytime? And fail over and over?
Not saying you are wrong OP. I just don't want to condemn random Unknown BLM, without context.
I'm confused, why would it be the tank that's uncomfortable with big pulls? If the group asks you to pull more and then they can't kill them/keep you alive, that's not on you, assuming you're in tank stance and using cooldowns.
