Mulitple characters and leveling classes.

So I know I know you generally don't NEED to have alts here but let's just assume some people have fun playing multiple characters...
Would it be possible to make classes and achievements (like tank mounts and such) account wide?
Would that be difficult to add? I really like my Miqo'te guy, he was my first main character but I have kinda switched server and main characer. Now I want to play him more but it just frustrates me so much that everything I've worked for is not there.
You would still have to gear them and that sh*it but leveling Paladin was kinda ugh and once is enough (also crafting classes).
You would just have to do the quests for the other characters but not the leveling.

I would say, I'd like certain things to be account bound. Account bound housing would fix the "mafia" and allow all alts to use the house in order to benefit the various things inside (like the crafting places), as well as making the armoire account bound for the special items and costumes.

For the rest though, I don't fully know: I'm not an achievement hunter BUT I'd like some sort of way so that all of your character can be united, like the Legacy System in SWTOR. In RP terms, you could roleplay a successor and such!

Could have only 2 retainers across all characters account wide. Up to 8 if you pay more. Weekly tomes should be account wide also 450/450. Scrips and commendations should be account wide. Pvp levels and levequests should be account wide.

Challenge log should be account wide. Beastman dailies should be capped at 12 quests account wide. Treasure maps should be account wide.



I'm just joking. Having an alt lets you have double of all your cooldowns. You can have 2 houses and get quest rewards twice. It's not so hard to level with levequests and grand company turn ins. Roulettes for leveling DoW DoM

Hmm I wrote that you should still have to gear characters individually so making tomes account wide makes no sense, same goes for scrips I guess. Why not make commendations account wide, not that I care though.
I don't know much about pvp so I can't say anything about that. Leve allowance would probably have to be account wide since you would level account wide anyway.
Challange log... yeah, don't know how to implement that since it gives XP and gil same for beast dailies. Tresure maps are mostly items and not XP.
My problem is that I can do that grind once but not twice so the extras don't do much for me, but I see that there are more problems with my wish that I had previously thought.

The lack of support for alts in this game really irks me. I know its better to have one character because cross class skills, you can't mail things between characters, etc.

Some of us just like having alts for a change of looks every so often, or to replay the story, or because we're RP'ers. Some have friends on other servers that we want to play with and since there's no cross-server friend list like Blizzard's Battletag and (afaik) no word on when we'll get something like that, we have no choice but to have alts.

For those of us that do have alts for whatever reason, it would be nice to have some things cross over, like UI settings and achievements. Mounts/minions/titles are a small maybe, things like unlocked glamour and dyeing are a huge maybe but I don't see why not.

I've been leveling Eilis here for the past several weeks (limited play time) because I needed a break from my main. Been crawling up through all the old MSQ - and HOLY TOLEDO, there is a lot of old MSQ to crawl up through. And much of it is less than exciting. I finally have gotten back to the point, it's time for a Keeper run. And all I can see is, the malms and malms of MSQ left to go, to bring her "current". And whoa, depressing.

So - it would be really nice, if we had a sort of "Get out of MSQ for Free" token, that we could use, which - if we already had another persona at, or past that point - the new alt would be set up so as to have the system believe, our new alt had already struggled up through the MSQ to that point.

Otherwise it's going to get even less appealing, to make other personas, as the quest goes ever on and on...

Retainers actually are account wide. My lame alt had 7 from the time she could even use them.

@OP - making classes account-wide would be incredibly broken for raiders.

This game needs to be more alt friendly in general.

I don't even care about achievements and mounts, but being able to mail stuff to my alt and share my house with her would be nice....

Dunno why they don't just auto-add characters on the same account to each other's friendslists.

I feel like a huge reason they don't support alts as much is phantasias. I recently made a Lala alt, because while I love my Hyur, I just can't resist the urge to be tiny and adorable. I got it up to like level 14ish, And the boredom is killing me.

The alternative of course, is to just phantasia my main.

I'm not going to do it, but I know several people who have. I had a friend that has actually been every race twice before settling back down on her original character.

If they shared things with the alts, they may have never gotten all that money from her phantasias.

Not really, as world of warcraft encourages people to have 10+ characters and they still make a fortune off of race changes.
