In-game voice chat?!!

I would love to see in-game voice chat to be implemented into the game, especially since there are multiple system versions of the game and we're playing with real players essentially 24/7. Not only that, it would greatly help with Raids. Although 3rd party apps are better than nothing, they also restrict all system versions of the game bc PS3, PS4, and PC can't voice chat together unless everyone has a PC or mobile device, it takes more time to setup, and it takes more bandwidth. Implementing an in-game voice chat for Parties and/or Linkshells would make voice chatting faster and easier to access no matter what system version you play on. If players are concerned about feeling pressured bc of in-game voice chat, then they should have the ability to turn it off completely if they wanted. Which means we should have options to mute single or all players, or disable it for good if needed.

They have said they they will not do this because it can be used to harass players and can't be monitored or used as evidence later should harassment be reported.

PlayStation needs to step up their game and add support for oovoo or Skype. Teamspeak 3 would be better but any group chat would be great.

Not going to happen. Producer/director yoshida made a post about it a long time ago and pretty much said use your own voip.

No...just No....party chat maybe, but for the love of all that is good, PLEASE do not turn this ESO where people now get to troll both voice and text chat

I am Just going to echo what others have said. Yoshida already said no to this. use our own 3rd party VOIP. the harassment is one reason. the other that was listed as common was for the people who are deaf. they want everyone to enjoy the game. this was all said in 2013. i am not up to looking back that many years of the explanation of no.

But see, that's the thing. Using harassment as an excuse to not implement it is not a good excuse, because what they can do is give us the ability to turn it off or on as we please. If a player feels like it pressures them, or they don't want to be harassed through voice, then they can just disable it altogether. If someone is going to harass, they'll find a way to do it anyways. This shouldn't be the reason as to why many of us should be punished by not receiving what we want in a game thats online 24/7, that's very cooperative dependent, and has multiple system versions.

I wouldnt mind paying an extra fee (small) for a on server FFXIV chat service that would be useable by both platforms in parties only.

So for me, i vote for Party voice chat at least. And give us the options to mute single or all players if we want in the party, or be able to disable voice chat altogether if we feel that it's negative toward our gaming experience.
