I suggest that you do those follow:

    1. speedtest.net and check your connect to Tokyo
    2. if you fail in upload to tokyo, call your ISP and ask them to check their end, if they say thing are fine and problem remain, do step 3
    3. mail to SE and tell them all the thing you did (expect the reply you get will piss you up but keep press on as I had R0 problem before, send 3 email to got 1 answer that they admit its their end that having problem)

I suggest you read the numerous other threads in the Technical Support forums about this before assuming the affected people haven't done the most basic of tests.

I get 140ms ping to Japan from Phoenix, AZ, which is actually pretty stellar. The problem is, there is something causing packets between certain players and the game servers to be dropped.

E-mailing SE support is pointless. I got a generic answer saying that they cannot provide support via e-mail and to call their support number, which was even more useless due to the rude and condescending support agent denying that anything could possibly be wrong with SE's infrastructure. Yet, why I have I not had any problems in the game since beta prior to 1.19a? And by that I mean this didn't start happening until the DAY AFTER the patch and has been a consistent problem since.

I dont assume, the bold text said itself that your R have problem. And listen, I try to help here as I have the similar problem at 1.19 while you dont, take the advice if you want, I did what I can, k ?

ninja edit: and no I dont care much about your ping, my 1. option is to check your upload to Tokyo

I thought this was discussed to death?

Sometimes I got R0 while my buddy didn't, or vice versa, and mind you, we were on the same network at the same time. I think it's a server issue. SE said different areas/regions run on different servers, which could explain this.

I have the same problem. I ran a continuous ping to Google with zero interruptions. And yet every day, around 10PM EST I start randomly R0ing. Seems to be about the same time every day, haven't really kept track. Nobody in my linkshell seems to have any issues at all. I have Cox Communications in Ohio. Was actually considering upping my service speed, but after seeing this thread it probably wouldn't make a difference.

If it was discussed to death and it's a server issue, then why has nothing been done about it? 1.19a has been out for a week and there's not even an acknowledgement from SE that there's a problem. That's what worries me. If someone would just come out and say "We realize there's a problem and we're looking into how to fix it" I think that would calm people's worries rather than not hearing anything at all.

There is a post from a forum moderator about the 30002 error, but that's not the exact same issue, (although it seems to be somewhat related) therefore we're still looking for an answer about the dropped packets issue that's only affecting certain people SINCE 1.19/1.19a

Something I've noticed is that FFXIV just seems to be finicky. Any other thing I can run it from across the house on a wireless connection, but FFXIV has problems running off wireless even from the next room over. It does work fine once I move my PC over and use a wired connection (Sadly the only phone outlet in the house is in such a place that I cannot simply keep my PC there fulltime)

I've found that anything you run on a wireless connection, especially games that require a constant connection, is going to be way more unreliable than a hard wired connection. My PC is hardwired, so that's a factor that shouldn't even be considered.

It would be nice to get some kind of official response. I assume they are looking into it, sense they are investigating the 30002 error, which from what I can tell is related like Orophin stated. I really hope they find the source of the problem. I just can't understand how a patch could cause a problem, besides the fact that there is a large number of people coming back. But these are the same servers we are talking about from day one right? I mean they worked a lot better then this with three times the population that we have now.(unless they made some kind of reduction in the servers capabilities.) I'm not sure I'm going to continue investigating pings during peak times, to see if i continue to have a problem there. Some people don't, but i'm starting to see a pattern that's making me fear there is some kind of infrastructure problem surrounding cox, and other providers that use them. I saw a thread about there being some kind of changes back on oct. 3 I'll try to find what i was reading and post it..
