I will be honest and say that before the internet became more mainstream then yes, things were more friendly but once more households got access to the internet, thats when games became more toxic, the feature set of a game didn't change the human mind set.Games that existed before add-ons were objectively more friendly though. There has always been toxicity in playerbases, but the mandatory drive of add-ons and parsers have made it worse in modern MMOs. In my opinion, add-ons are one of the single worse things to ever come to gaming, but I come from a time before such things existed so I may just be having a "good ol' days" nostalgic moment.
