Well I had a semi-rotten experience in The Antitower today, first of all I got in a group that lost it's original healer and tank so they were happy to see a new tank come along. All went along fine, I noticed one of the dps was abit undergeared so I expected it to slow down the run, it did but I said nothing, we were doing fine, I made a sarcastic remark about how Ziggy was going to be painful on how we would miss killing the stardusts, after the boss fight the ninja tells me to "stop bitching"..okay then? I don't recall anytime of me "bitching" I even pointed out the drg had undergeared legs but did not make a big deal out of it, the ninja told me to get the stick out of my ass. This is where I remained silent for the rest of the run up until we downed Calcabrina, I made a comment on party chat on how rude the Ninja was but both the dragoon and healer left before replying. Was I in the wrong somewhere? I remember only being polite the entire dungeon and I feel the ninja's comment was completely uncalled for.

You already knew the run was going to be a bit slow and I assume they both were aware as well. You throwing the comment (please note sarcasm doesn't spread well online) just makes you look like your trying to pick a fight or cause problems. So in this case, I say it is on you.

Well I did not consider at the time sarcasm could illicit a negative response as strongly as that, perhaps then the dragoon and ninja were partied together and they took offense to the comment?

It is possible they were in a group together but it is also possible they didn't care regardless. They were both in the dungeon so they obviously had the correct gear level to go inside, however as mentioned it was just a comment that was not needed. Whenever you single out someone or remark about gear or low dps it is rarely ever done in a friendly way.

Well then the blame is indeed on me I will keep in mind in the future to never make a comment about someone else's gear, besides the run did turn out fine in the end we only wiped once before Calcabrina.

Your quotes are pretty much how I perceived the situation. You sarcastically told him his gear sucked and would make the experience of a boss suck, and he told you to stop bitching. I really don't see how any part of that is indicative to negative community rather than just two sensitive people being catty.

What exactly is "undergeared legs" to you? If they got in the dungeon they're obviously geared enough for it. You calling out bad DPS due to gear level is rude, IMO, so it's on you.

Look I now realize after typing this up I could have handled the situation a lot better than I did, I realized after the feedback on this thread I've gotten that sarcasm does not translate well in text form and I could have just as well kept to myself instead of making a remark on someone else's gear to begin with, and I apologize for my mistake. I did neglect to mention one thing though, and please do not think of me as targeting this person but I was not the only one to make an observation on the dps, the healer themselves remarked "Am I the only one doing damage?" in a sarcastic tone much like the one I took earlier, I wanted to say something but..I don't know why I didn't, but that's not important, the fact remains is I unintentionally opened a can of worms and I should have known better than to act out against my better judgement. I was foolish in this situation.
