    Considering its an egg. I can't see an egg having more than like 5 HP maximum.

    Wow, now you got me curious about checking some npc's hp. Like the scions, for instance, or Raubahn.

    Frankly, I am surprised more WHMs haven't tried this. I also tried Benediction on the cactuar mascot in the Gold Saucer, but it has no effect for some reason.
